True, run-based offense (plus shotgun?) will be a big help.
Definitely NOT Jeff George. Batch I suppose would be OK. I suppose Banks could be relied on to just not fumble the hand-off.

I don't suppose we could con Miami out of Ray Lucas? The guy is wasting away behind Fiedler.

I bet we'd stick with Peete, and try to develop Fasani / Lytle if Weinke looks hurt.

Weinke's bum shoulder may give Lytle a job.

    We will only keep 3.

Peete's not our QB coach, he's our backup. When the starters hurt, the backup comes in. So this is the position we will either upgrade, or keep the guy we have.

We just don't have a great deal of money.

I might take a look at Anthony Wright if it were me, but I don't think we make any moves.

Weinke, if healthy, will be the starter this year. we'll stick with Peete and Lytle/Fasani as the other backup. We'll grab a QB in the 1st round next year when our cap is oin better shape. We can't afford to do otherwise at this point. I've seen articles where as many as 8 quality QB's could be in the draft next year including some underclassmen such as Rex Grossman and Eli Manning.

Well, Eli is only a Junior, but he's first round material right now. Palmer, Simms, Dorsey, possibly Clausen, good group.

Next year will be a great QB class, and a very good reciever class. The running back class doesn't actually look real good (exception to Larry's FSU back).

If Weinke really struggles and we have to go QB next year, OK. But I'd rather get a DT, or a big play reciever like Washington.

the RBs will be ok when all the juniors come out, piper. :)

and i'd be ok with batch, too.

I’d be ok with Batch (edit, not Peete, sorry) too, but I kind of think so would Capers.

  9. Batch as a back up would be an upgrade over anyone on the roster right now. He'd be a solid back up who has been a productive starter at times with the Lions. I'd like Batch if we could get him.

  10. Does anyone ever recall SandMan having anything good to say about a white QB? Just curious...
