from a fan: duke's 5 worst losses

Probably Duke's funniest or most embarrassing loss was at home against the Tar Heels last year against first year soon to suck coach Matt D. (I'm a heel fan, so I hope he works out, but...)

 

WYDD you are thinking of 1996. Knowledgeable Duke fans (that's directed at Wossa, not you) such as myself will know that '97 was the first of Duke's 5 straight ACC regular-season titles. They were the #1 seed in the ACC Tourney before losing to State in the first round, so the early exit wasn't a big surprise, but it stung nonetheless b/c it was such a huge upset and I was disappointed in the way Coach k handled the lineup patterns in that game, letting 6'6" Jamel Thomas dominate under the basket.

The UF loss was a stinger b/c '00 was one of my favorite Duke teams of all time and it hurt to see them go down early after exceeding everyone's expectations throughout the year. They were very young, however.

the crap poured down UNC throats for years and years about UNC/Dean and his stocked teams that underacheived/choked has turned me bitter I guess.

for example - over the last five years dook has a record of 164-19.

that is outta this world impressive - ( UNC lost more games THIS season than dook lost over the LAST FIVE - ) and without a doubt in every one of those five years dook was THE team to beat. Ranked #1, trouncing opponents, running the table in the regular season and ACC tourney. stocked full of NBA ( yes I said NBA) talent POY studs Williams, Brand, Battier, etc.

yet for all that awesome talent and record - only one measly NCAA title - hell ONLY two final fours - getting the boot way too early 3 of those years.

So does all this mean that Kiuadiuasdihgi is a crappy coach when the chips are down? it must since that is the stick they like to hit Dean with. Did dook choke with rosters stocked with McD AA's ?

I guess so since that was the rap against UNC for having the same results.

Oh well - I guess I'll let it die. Most of you can't see shit through those dark blue shades anyway so why bother.
