Yeah. Some would call it double-double zone, I guess. At that level it's perfect because you've got man underneath - most teams aren't that sophisticated with the pass. I don't see why not - having pro calls, just limiting terminology and having dummy reads - isn't that hard. Hell, there are plenty of WCO type resources available for the HS level. You could easily have three, four pass plays that have basic boolean either/or coverage dependent reads that wouldn't be any harder than the junk they draw in the sand.

Honestly, you could, if you wanted the 8th man to be less run-dependent, play C2 and just have that guy ready to turn and run to his zone. It'd be ugly, but IMO most 8 man fronts are.

Guess I should add something contructive to the thread, The CB we picked up as an UDRFA from Ark, played some SS as a Junior for the razorbacks, after reading some draft profiles on him he seems like a guy thats is really good at run support and zone pass defense not not very good at m2m coverage, Could he get a shot at Safety?

Agreed. Playing an 8 man front leaves a defense vulnerable.

Our passing game is as well balanced and as sophisticated as any team I've seen since I moved here. We have a 3 step game, a 5 step game, play action, boots, waggles, sprint out, and an incredible screen package. Schools that run an 8 man front have a great deal of difficulty when playing us.

Most teams we played really just weren't. I checked out Corey Alexander once, at Mooresville, because I heard he was badass and that they were running a "pro multiple no-huddle".
Nope. Multiple formation, yeah. Occasionally "pro" forms, and some no-huddle that looked like it was just checks at the line. We never played teams that would openly run dumps to backs, or looked legit, other than the usual powerhouse teams. Most people just bought their I, wishbone, wing-T, run/shoot or whatever they felt like running, and ran it to the letter.
