wow. i'm a cavs fan and have been following this closely.

what a fucktard. you really need to have a national tv special to take a crap on your home-town team?

lebron couldn't win in cleveland so he's going to stack the deck and see if a super-team can win it all. wouldn't be surprised if they all take a major pay cut just so the heat can field a reasonable team.

i honestly think this is going to be very bad for the nba. the league needs competition amongst the teams to be viable and putting three superstars in the primes of their careers on one team is going to upset the balance. i know miami will get great ratings, but what about the rest of the east? you've got orlando, miami, chicago and boston. everybody else is going to be lucky to have a winning season.

    That was epic.

I agree with Nut, this is bad for the NBA. If the basketball gods are still alive they will frown upon this.

I hope we still get Beasley out of this. I noticed that LeBron didn't mention him when talking about his teammates, even though he's one of like 3 guys under contract. I think he's gone to make this all work.

Anyone notice LeBron handing out scholarships to 'privileged' kids? Seems like Bron should have used one of those scholarships himself, strange that he said it twice. He must not have practiced his banter, or no one around him was smart enough to know he actually meant 'underprivileged' kids.

Boston did this with Allen, Garnett and Pierce and got one championship out of it and almost a second (although Rondo was the reason). These guys are all still young though so it might last for a while.

Yeah they are a lot younger, although Wade is turning 29 and has a lot of miles. Actually James has a lot of miles too.

Seems like if the Heat keep Beasley and Chalmers then they will only be able to add minimum level contracts. If they want Felton they will have to deal Beasley, I can't see him taking the minimum.

This just gives me a team I now hate more than the Lakers.
The NBA blows, marketing individual players rather than teams.

I agree, I think there should be a hard cap, and you can't go over that cap no matter what, unless maybe to sign a min player to fill the spot of an injured player only.

I am a Lebron fan, but I really didn't like this TV special to make an announcement, that was total crap. I don't blame him for leaving Cleveland although I would have preferred he stay there, but the TV just went too far.

He had people in Cleveland marching around with signs like there was a chance he was going to stay. It was most likely all a front to make it look like he might stay when he knew all along he was going to Miami What a douche.
