Thelt, I was energized about the team back then, but man that was 7 years ago.

It was only two years ago that we went 12-4 and won the division. Everyone keeps throwing around that 3 out of 9 stat but it is misleading. The first year he went from 1-15 to 7-9, that is a good thing even if you miss the playoffs. The last year he had the rug pulled out from under him. A couple other years he had massive injuries to deal with. If you are glad he is gone and think we will be better now then that is fair but do not act like he sucked here.

Take out his best year and his worst, he's a few games over .500. Not horrible but far from great.

I won't say he entirely sucked here, sure he did some good things (I have said so). But in Fox's case, I believe his only having 3 winning seasons in 9 years is a very fair and accurate stat, a stat that he truly earned.

Because Fox is stubborn, and being stubborn and not willing to change is his biggest and most glaring weakness as a coach.

the 1-15 to 7-9 wasn't that big a task. A lot of the losses in the 1-15 were close games. Not only that..2001 draftees included Dan Morgan, Steve Smith, Kris Jenkins and Weinke. When fox came in the next year, the team was primed for a turnaround.

This 2-14 team is worse than the 1-15 team. If Rivera can get to 7-9, I'll be his biggest fan because it will be a true turn around.

It's an exercise in futility to keep comparing 2001 to 2010. Both teams lost a ton of games, under different circumstances. The only thing you can say with certainty is the 2010 team was rife with youth, most of which will contribute in 2011. 2001 was loaded with broken down veterans.
