I am going to do a wait and see, but will send out some precautionary words...

Wienke does not deserve the franchise QB tag he seems to be getting, if he beats somebody out and does well, great, I am wrong and have no problem with it.

We really have not had a leader at this spot since our big playoff run with Collins so I'll just be glad when that is one positions I can stop talking about... right now it is a bif ? for me.

I would probably go with Grahm or Brown if we don't retain Harbaugh. Both of those guys are career back-ups with a couple of years experience as starters...and both should be cheap.
On Weinke's problems throwing to the left...he had an injury that limited his ability to turn and contort to his left. Thus his passes in that direction tended to float a little. That was more related to his injury than any technique flaw. He probably shouldn't have been playing with an injury like this?
Also, Weinke is RIGHT handed and it is naturally easier for a right hander to throw to the right. Throwing across the body to the left is a little more difficult.

    Weinke no Collins

Weinke is not a collins. His maturity and intelligence make him the guy to beat for the QB position.

Honestly, I think QB will be the "Mr. Irrelevant" position on our team next season. We'll be asking him to preserve leads, not win games. Hopefully our re-tooled defense and running game will keep the time of possession heavily in our favor.

Any QB that has good morale, and can gracefully serve as a back up, and is under 37 years old is worth bringing here.

I like the idea of Weinke having a peer/mentor. Someone to help motivate him to perfect his form, his decision skills, etc.
