I am optimistic about the upcoming year(s) for this reason. I have a feeling we actually have a coaching staff now. The past couple of years Fox seemed to be sleep walking through it, and his trained chimp of an OC should have been shot. (Meeks did well for who he had to work for).
I feel the Rivera-McD-Chud trio will make this a much better team.
Yes, it will take a 2-3 years, but it's easy to turn around an NFL team.

If only Hurney would quit, all would be well.

We didn't expect to see anything, did we? Last year on draft day everyone seemed to agree that it was going to be a long and difficult transition. So the fact we haven't seen him do anything means nothing to me.

Having said that, he's had a year to adjust and learn and its time for him to step up.

this is why the trade gets nixed when talk of compensation turns to a 2nd round pick. instead it goes through, we have a player that can't get on the field, and a rebuilding project that has squandered a valuable selection this year. and there's no real reason to believe that he will see the field this season either, other than blind hope. if you want to argue that we are one of the dumbest franchises in the league and we shouldn't be crying since we consistently flub our 2nd, i'll buy that all day, every day.

of that list, Brown and Norwood have the best shot at gaining from the new defense (rushers that can drop in a zone blitz) and Barnidge ains the most from the offense (wide catching radius), though Barnidge should try catching a ball or two.

I keep forgetting about Norwood, but he seems like the type who could benefit from Rivera.

Interesting as well with both Davis and Anderson UFA.
