Jake broke his finger with a hammer. It was the only way Fox would pull him out. This shit was planned, so Fox didn't have to pull Jake and make himself look like an idiot. Now he can say he stuck by his guy until he was injured, then Moore come in an did his job as a back up so well that he showed he could be a starter. I'm betting they don't even cut Jake. They probably say he and Moore will compete for the starting job during training camp and obviously Moore will win. Jake may restructure his contract or retire, but I don't see Fox cutting him. It's all a ploy to save Fox's reputation.

I think it's time to make a change whenever a coach loses his players. John Fox has not lost this team. The players still believe in him and his system and they play hard for him...

Look at it like this... say we just fired Mangini or Shanahan... and John Fox had been with the Giants all this time and he was available... with his record and his current experience & reputation, he would be at the top of our list.

I don't want another head coach, he's one of the best coaches out there. He's learning every year just like everybody else too...

Clayton seemed to be playing up the angle that Fox could walk in order to get a long term contract elsewhere.

I read something on that too. If he does leave I would not be opposed to promoting Meeks to head coach.

Meeks is a good internal head coach interview, partially for Rooney Rule. He's also respected and would probably be a solid head coach, but I don't know that internal hires are ever a great idea.

Plus after turning down a respected coach like Skipper for the OC job you can't interview him for head coach. At some point it's disrespectful.

somewhat interesting how many fans (who happen to have wanted Fox gone) seem to suggest that Fox will quit if he doesn't get an extension.

Magnus, I wouldn't say that opinion is limited simply to those who want him gone,,,, bc I happen to work with one of his biggest supporters who just made that same comment yesterday, that he too believed Fox would leave if not given an extension.

Honestly I haven't thought about what he'd do, as you know I was one of those thinking it is time for change. But I can agree with all the good that is said about him and further agree that he's the best fit for us,,, but only if he will just get Jake out of his ass.

yas at espn is touting up fox could be walking away now for a contract.

i don't really have a preference on coach. i just think things around here could be better. i don't want to see joke delhomme brought out as the starter next camp. i don't want to see us going with the same non-options at wr. this garbage that was put out on the field this year was frustrating to watch. it's still frustration, for other reasons, but at least i'm happier about the outcomes lately. if fox-hurney can effectively make the changes and additions the team needs, then great, i'm all for it. if it's business as usual and is what is, then no, no thanks, i've had enough.
