Did you ever give a thought to doing a Google search with "Foster Panthers extension"? Some of the stories on it show up on the very first page (like this one).

One thing about Foster's fumbling is that it hasn't seemed to change.

It seems to be the single most important thing for him to change - and he hasn't, and it's been like - years.

That's troubling. He would've gone in the first round, maybe won a heisman (don't remember if his 90 fumble performance happened before or after the booster money incident). Still hasn't fixed it.

EDIT - I decided to check stats.

    Foster - 4 fumbles (3 lost) in 262 touches over 3 seasons.
    Davis - 4 fumbles (3 lost) in 452 touches over 3 seasons.

That's not as bad as I thought, but still not good. You could count on him dropping it about every other game if he was the #1 back - and he'd be targeted for the forced fumble more than others.

    139 touches, 4 fumbles in 2003.
    120 touches, 1 fumble, 2004-Now.

What kind of improvement are you looking for, Meat?

Thanks for the link. A little bit of noise there, but nearly what I would have expected for someone like Foster refusing to extend. That puts a serious dent in the future of the running game.

Not that I expect this to be considered a strong source but a friend of mine said that Deshaun told him, early last season, personally that he planned on signing with a West Coast team when his contract expired.

I've seen that mentioned a couple of places, but honestly, I don't see him pulling off anything in California. The Chargers have LT and the Raiders are committed to Jordan. San Francisco might bring him in, but they really like Gore, and they've got more pressing needs that will demand cap space. Seattle would probably show a lot of interest if they let Alexander go (which would be incredibly stupid, IMO), but that's probably his only shot to be a feature back out here.

Cardinals, maybe? A one-two punch with Arrington, or if J.J.'s a total bust.

Honestly, I'd like to keep him here. Half the Panthers' highlight reel is Deshaun.

Quite possibly. Foster might fit Denny Green's scheme pretty well. I think in time he might compare roughly with Robert Smith. I just didn't consider ARZ a "west coast" team, even though they are in the NFCW now.
