Is he gonna be back for this weeks game? Be nice to have him for some limited action because i'm sure the packers aren't gonna be spending alot of time looking at him. It's nice for once to have somebody playing really well at RB, and still have someone else who's expected to be a starter at some point this season as his backup.

He'll prob be available, but won't see action for 1 or 2 more weeks to be safe... this is attributed to Lamar Smith's good start

I wouldn't expect to see Foster before the Arizona game, and sparingly at that. After the Cards, we've got two turf games, which will be dangerous coming off a knee. Then the bye, and after that, I expect we'll see a lot more of DeShaun. But like Brain said, with Lamar running as well as he is, there's really no reason to rush DeShaun back.

Nice problem to have, huh? :D

can't think of a better one!

i agree though - see a decent amount of him against arizona at home, let him chill on the turf games, let him get some time in against tampa at home again, bye week and then unleash him. hate to say this, but we'll need to keep him healthy, because Lamar's getting old and I don't know if he can keep up this kind of workhorse performance

I think he got hurt because he missed some camp, and pushed too hard too early when he got in. He was ready to get the playing time he was getting.

I don't want to make the same mistake again. He needs to wait, and play sparringly.

What will be cool is when they put Lamar out in a 4 receiver set, and Foster in the backfield.

Foster didn't miss camp... he didn't sign until the day camp started but he was there from day 1

As long as Smith is producing at such a high level, why bother with Foster. Let him get healthy, keep him in waiting til after the bye week.
If Smith's production falls off before then, deal with it. Don't risk a more serious injury to our future superstar RB.
I'd say Foster's role should be as the change of pace back with Smith bulling people over. It would be the best thing for the present and future of the team.

He missed early pratices because of school. He was way behind by the time camp started. I didn't mean for it to sound like he missed "training camp".

I'd say make DeShaun the 3rd down back when he gets back... he's got a faster step and is a little better reciever
