My impression was that they didn't think he had a fumbling problem, since he's doing all the right things to prevent that.

Either way, I'm interested in seeing how he does on live plays.

That's what it looked like at mini camp. He stuck out.

There were all the other guys, and then you'd see Foster. It was dramatic.

That was the impression I got too but as long as he doesn't put the ball on the ground.... This article excites me. A running game. Wha?????

Most of Foster's fumbling came while injured (either a rib or a stress fracture in his wrist. can't remember which it was). Otherwise, I don't beleive he had a "problem" any worse than any other RB.
I still doubt he will start on opening day unless Smith is injured. HOWEVER, I do expect he will take over the majority of the carries by mid-season. He and Smith will share the load for the most part, IMO.

I really wish everybody would just shut up about the fumbling. I'm not buying into that there's a problem. The more evrybody talks about it, the more he's labeled. The more he's labeled, the more teams will target for it. The more he's asked questions about it, the more he'll dwell on it.

If he puts the ball down 3 times after 5 games, has 4 TD's & 490 yds rushing and 100 receiving, and the team is 2-3, are we going to complain? I sure as hell won't.

Get your panties out of your ass and lighten up. I mentioned it because the article raved about how he was holding onto the ball and the fumbling problem may have been blown out of proportion anyway. Lose the attitude.

both of you have a point. Fans are going to be irrationally hard on Foster after one fumble. He's not Marshall Faulk - he may put the ball on the ground a few times this year. He's a good back, and should be very productive - it's the type of situation where if we only had Foster, he'd easily carry for 1200 yards this year if healthy. That's not the type of situation I want to see go into "I told you so" just because a few people want to find fault and carry baggage.

On the other hand I didn't get that feeling from what Semp was saying either.

good grief. if he only puts the ball on the ground 2-3 times and doesn't get injured in the first 5 games, all us casual fans will feel like its a godsend after the last few years of holding our breath everytime Timmy touched the ball.

Sorry Semp, I didn't mean you specifically. I was just referring to the tone of the board since the draft, and even before we drafted him. Also it seems like I can't read an article without talking about a fumble, and he hasn't even played yet.

If he does fumble early, I don't want to see everybody jump his ass either. As long as his TD/Fumbles is better than Biak's, I don't want to hear about it. Or how about even games played/to fumbles, lol
