I think they probably just stuck with the same gameplan while Davis was out with cramps. It was successful, so they stuck with it. I'm not sold on Foster, but he does have a good ypc average so far.

Maybe its me but it looks as if he does'nt hit the hole like Davis. I saw several runs where he tried to put a move on a defender when the hole was already there to begin with. That stuff may have worked in college and high school but not in the NFL.

He is not a down the center runner. He is the sweep speed guy that's why I ask why they didn't take him outside more. You get him up to speed and Davis and he could be huge.

No, I kinda see that too, he's not hitting the hole downhill like Davis does. Maybe it will come as he builds confidence in the knee. I hope.

Foster is a guy who needs room to run. He is not a grind it out back. He should be running outside the ends.

He doesn't seem to be seeing the cut back lanes that Davis takes. The ol up and out. Not as patient.

He has broken tackles at the line when he's gotten those bigger runs, like on that 3rd and 4 today. Runs the draw well.

He's not super fast, only a 4,6 guy, but fast enough and has some power. Time behind Davis may help him learn some patience. He's got a good YPC so far, but not as consistant.

Davis seems to have great field vision to go along with his other physical skills. This is a talent that you cant teach, some guys just have it.

he is in fact more tentative around the hole. It's not a physical thing, because he has excellent acceleration in the passing game.
Again, I say Hoover seems to be a more suitable backup for 5-8 carries a game, since he's not being used much and has the same proportions.
