Yes. Just like your league. Hype is hot air. Print all the paper accolades you want, including summaries of your home game heavy non league schedules, the fact is, a couple of mid to low rung BE teams just came in and proved that the ACC is a windbag myth sustained on the backs of 2 true elites. The rest of the conference is overhyped mediocrity.

So Carolina was better on paper than pretty much every team it faced when we went 8-20? Guess that's why thye don't play teh games on paper.

Paper accolades? We are the best league out there. If we played any laegue matching up by the standings, we would beat everyone.

Yes. So why keep making my point?

Umm.... no. The Big East is the best league in the country. Next year, it will be scary good.

The funny thing is, Boston College is coming over just in time to save the ACC. They could very well be the best team in the conference next year (especially if Paul and the Tar Heel core guys leave). BC is scheduled to return all of its go-to guys (Dudley, Smith, etc). Yet another BE team will rule the ACC roost next year.

    I love it

    If...
    If...
    If...

And I love all these whiners that LOVE their team so much that they find it necessary to spend more time over here discussing ACC basketball instead of discussing Niner basketball on the Niner forum.

Didn't Charlotte have a nice win over St. Louis last week?

Who on this board would no since no one ever bothered to comment on the game for the team they LOVE over in the Niner forum.

Face it - at the end of the day you know all you will have to talk about is how the ACC didn't live up to expectations ( and you'll just pick a team that doesn't make it all the way) since Charlotte will fall flat on its face again in the NCAA tourney.

    If...
    If...

    :laugh1:

Assuming neutral floors (something the ACC will not do):

    Boston College v.North Carolina

I like BC in that one, but its a coinflip. UNCCH is better on paper, but Dudley & Smith are blue collar studs & the team refuses to lose.

    Connecticut v.Wake Forest

UConn has the answer for Eric Williams and would outrebound Wake. Paul & Grayw ould have to carry Wake with tremendous games (Paul isnt playing very well right now), and I don't like Wake when Paul is shooting first. Talent is a total wash here. Both teams are loaded, but Wake doesnt play defense. Coin flip game, with a slight edge to UConn absed on Paul's recent struggles.

    Syracuse v.Duke

The Cuse. Better team on paper and on the court. Two teams that have no idea that basketball is played outside their state though (wash factor)

    Pittsburgh v.Virginia Tech

Two overrated teams. I like Va Tech's ability to win ugly games, which is how Pitt usually beats people. Va Tech gets the nod.

    Georgetown v.Maryland

Coin flip. Maryland is the ACC mdoel for inconsistency. The inuries hurt too.

Incidentally, why do you have Gtown here? I thought Nova was ahead of them.

    Villanova v.Georgia Tech

Nova, all day long. Lowry just needs to keep his rage in check. I love Jarret Jack, but Nova is one of my cinderella NCAA teams, if they can still be called that. They are very, very good.

(personally though, I think you should be matching up Nova versus MD).

    Notre Dame v.Miami FL

Diaz is playing so well, this is a tough one. I havent seen Miami play this type of game before, so i can't pick it.

    West Virginia v.North Carolina St.

I like Pittsnoggle & Gansey over Hodge. WVa.

    Seton Hall v.Virginia

Zzzzzzzzzzzz Gillen's getting canned. The Hall is ok. The Hall.

    St. John's v.Clemson

Clemson, in a game no one cares about.

    Rutgers v.Florida St.[/QUOTE]

Rutgers talented guards win it over possibly the biggest dissapointment in college basketball.

Well that was fun, but it proves nothing. The fact is, most of the experts agree that the BE is better. I think it is too. I think they will get more teams in the NCAAs and have a better overall record, though the Tarholes might have a better showing that any single BE team.

No, it proves that I watch lots of college basketball and know more than just one conference, unlike you and most ACC bandwagonners.

Like most ACC fans, you have an inflated sense of self worth and a severe lack of subject matter knowledge. I get the distinct impression from you that you haven't even watched more than 1 or 2 BE games all season. I've seen every BE team play, at least once, some as many as 5 or 6 times. See, as a real college hoops fan and not just some flag waiving "my conference RULEZZZ" homer, I actually pay attention to everything that I can find time to see. I dont place myself on some bullshit pedestal and pretend the rest of the game isn't good enough for me.

BTW, vp, your sacred cow argument is the ACC's RPI ranking. That same formula tells us that the Pac10 is the 2nd best league in the country, and Vermont is the 19th best team.

    'Nuff said.
