I'll give it to NC State since they have the National Championships but that was 22 years ago. Charlotte has been better the past decade. Maryland, on the other hand, has a more recent Championship so I won't argue that.

Can't we be proud that the State of NC has 4 damn teams in the top 25 and probably top 20 when the new rankings come out? What other state can claim such great basketball??

What about Georgia Tech making it to the title game last year? Virginia Tech will probably lose their last two games and guess where that puts them. 14-13 with a 7-9 conference record. Same exact record as last year and this was suppose to be a better team than last year. They lost their best player but everyone returned and Marquie Cook and Deron Washington were top 100 recruits coming in to Blacksburg. Can't say anything about Miami though, they've done a great job, but both Big East schools are starting to fade as the year goes on. Duke played one of it's worst games of the year, was on the road, and was without one of their key players. They looked real shaky but a win is a win. That's the same type of wins the Big East was bragging about earlier in the year. Almost all the Big East wins are against the bottom tear teams in the ACC. If you count State as a bottom tier team this year.

outside of Connecticut and Syracuse, the Big East hasn't done anything in the tournament in recent years

Hey I totally agree with this. I just find it funny that a few of the niners always try in some fashion compare UNCC to the ACC and how they beat an ACC team way back when, or they beat the new kids in the ACC. Just seems like they would worry more about getting to the next level instead of trying to find an off the wall way of saying they are better than most of the ACC teams.

    ecu, ecu.

so, with the whiner fans logic, say bc comes in next year and finishes 8th in conference, does that make the acc better??

of course, you could go with some traditional logic and see that maybe, just maybe, sometimes teams just end up being better than everyone expected.

    see boston college.

Yes, it would be evidence to support that claim, but outside of some unforeseen circumstance, that simply will not happen. The roster they have slated to come back is too good.

Difference being, the BC core has already had tremendous success together.
