Once again metroid people have to spell shit out for you. The reason I had "Make" was because you tend to make things fit your needs, which I don't mind, if you need a handicap like that, it's no problem with me, what's one more handicap for you.

I can stand by a harsh bet, not worth my time to bet, if all I get is to listen to you bitch and moan about UNC and their fans. If you ever added something to these threads than some personal grudge you have against UNC because they didn't recruit you for baseball and you were a fan of UNC until that point then whatever. Get over it man, how many kids play baseball at the high school level? It's kind of hard to recruit/accept every kid that is a fan of your school just because they like you.

I don't know why they didn't recruit you, maybe they didn't think you would fit into their plans, stocked at that position you play. Maybe they never heard of you, or maybe you just sucked, who know and who cares. Damn, now that I think of it I am mad because UNC didn't recruit me in football out of high school, the bastards!!! lol

I have absolutely nothing against UNCC and some of their fans, but in the same tone, some of their fans suck(don't worry you are included in that).

If you could add something other than the whole anti-UNC thing then it wouldn't matter. But you always try to show everything negative about UNC and their fans, and that just isn't true. I mean hell if we all judged UNCC and their fans by you, then they would never have another student enroll.

Larry, we got close one time under Crum, also. I believe it was a 10-1 year. Only loss was a 41-7 shellacking at the hands of Oklahoma.

UNC should be an 8-9 wins a year school with the occasional Top 10 finish. No excuses.

We've lost too many local players to the FSU's, Tenn.'s and Florida's of the world. I would have loved to have seen what Nick Maddox could have accomplished as a feature back on the Hill. Instead, he was just another player for the FSU machine.

Until some leadership is established on the Hill that doesn't kowtow to a certain select group of boosters, I don't think things will truly change.

True, we were getting close under Mack, but thanks to DB he was never going to get the money to stay here.

But all of these schools can't be 9 win teams every year, especially with just 9 teams.

Sure there should always be another team or two each year that has 8 or 9 wins, but the ACC at this point just doesn't have the horses consistantly.

Now with 12 team, things will change.

    1) There should always be a top 3 teams winning % .800 or better combined
    2) The next tier of 3 teams winning % around .667
    3) The next 3 teams around .450
    4) The bottom 3 teams around .250

Something close to this I hope or better maybe.

    This year it's:
    FSU
    the middle
    then dook and UNC

He was good with Dooley's recruits. Once his guys started coming in we really started sucking. God he was awful.

Ok. Now we are back to the point I was trying to make to you earlier Larry.

No. These are NOT 9 win programs. At least not every year. Never gonna happen. Once every 3 years probably (maybe). Your expectations are too high. Which is why I was giving you shit over your first post to being with. It's not that I want to defend UNC. It's that I think you are applying the thoughts of an FSU fan to programs that are NEVER going to have that type of consistency. Why? Because they cannot dial up 100 recruits and get 10 of them to sign on the dotted line simply because of who is making that call like FSU can.

Maryland, UVA and State are right where they should be right now. Good, solid programs that can easily win 6-7, sometimes 8 or 9, and if they hit the jackpot with someone in a recruiting class and a favorable schedule they might hit 10 or 11.

I think that UNC is most definitely a 9 win program. There were only a couple of places that Mack Brown would have left Chapel Hill for. Unfortunately, one of them called.

It sucked that Texas called to be sure.

Getting back to Bunting... is there reason enough to toss him overboard? No. Not yet anyway. I agree with you and the others about giving him another year or two to see what he can do with his recruits. Larry asked about improvement....on D? NO. On offense? Yes. The last two games they have taken it to Clemson and Maryland on O in the first half before getting worn down because the D is so bad. But I don't see where they have quit either - and that's a good sign too.

But I still think it's hard - damn hard - to win better than 8 year in and year out unless you are one of a dozen or so teams. Everyone else simply gets lucky every so often based on that recruiting /schedule thing I added to my previous post.

LOL! I remember it well. Talk about frustration... I got so ticked off at one game it cost me my relationship with my HS sweetheart. She went to Duke, so no great loss.

Come to think of it, I still have a "Steer Clear We Have The Veer" bumpersticker somewhere. It makes a great partner to the old NCSU "Dick Crum Is A Social Disease" bumper sticker from the same era.
