I have now lost 54 lbs. I'm down two shirt sizes and 6 inches off my waist size. I think my metabolism is speeding up because I'm starting to get hungrier between meals. It's pretty cool.

HB, I can't tell you how thrilled I am at the progress you're making! Just a rough guess--are you averaging about 4-5 lbs loss a week since you started? Incredible results!

How are your energy levels? I gather you're feeling pretty good overall.

You mentioned doing some lifting for strength rather than cardio. You know as you build muscle, it helps increase your metabolism

That's an amazing loss in such a short time HB. You know I love ya, and would rather have my toenails chewed off by a kia than be anything less than positive, but please be careful. I did something similar to what you're doing and well, completely screwed my metabolism in the process (among other things). Simply put, it wasn't a long term weight loss plan and regardless of what I ate after reaching goal, it came back on because my metabolism was so ruined. You don't have to answer this, and I don't want to be negative at such a fantastic result - just be careful matey...you know :newsmile43:.

I know, HG, and thank you for the concern. I'm doing this program under careful watch of both my regular doc and my specialist. I see the latter every 2 weeks, specifically to make sure I'm doing well.

One thing I've noticed is that I still feel healthier than I did. I don't feel weak or fatigued. My skin tone looks good (sometimes the more intense weight loss programs can cause the patient's skin to look pale and slack), and my vitals are normal and healthy. I've got lots of good, smart, and caring people looking after me.

Yeah, about 4 lbs. a week on average, give or take.

My energy is really good, especially after my specialists had me start doing the in-between snacks and increasing my intake a little at dinner. A couple of times I've pushed it a little too hard at the gym and gotten over fatigued, but otherwise I feel good and healthy. :xyxthumbs:

Yeah, I know, and that's part of the idea. What's more, I think it's starting to work. I feel like my body is telling me it needs a little more intake now. I'm obliging, but still being very careful about both the quantity and the quality of food I'm eating. So far, so good.

Congrats HB. I'm envious, but not motivated enough to change anything. :laugh1:
