Actually all those groups do similar things in places where they're the majority. People resent Christians more than other religions because they are still the dominant group.

Without Anglo-Saxon Christians as the dominant culture in Europe and America, we would not have Satan, Dracula, Marilyn Manson, Charles Manson, thunderstorms and castles, and the entire strain of Gothic literature back to Emily Bronte and Frankenstein. And the Middle Ages would have been boring. I don't resent Christians. They bring too much amusement to our history and current politics. With foolish beliefs, there will always be blood. As well as drama, comedy, and horror.

Top Ten Signs You Are a Fundamentalist Chrisitian

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

    I don't feel outraged, I feel sad.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

I believe God's tools are unknown to us....is it possible God uses evolution as a creation tool? Sure. The two are not mutually exclusive.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

The whole Trune God thing to me is all semantics. God is God, Jesus was God in the form of man.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

The Old Testament isn't a literal tome to me. It is a collection of ancient Jewish stories, some of which are factual, some based in fact, and some intended to portray ideas. It's purpose, for me, is to prophesy the comming of the Messiah. I believe I am beholden to the New Covenant...the New Testament.

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

I don't put stock in religions based on the physical world, "Thunder happens because Zeus is bowling..."
I also believe the facts surrounding Jesus' death and ressurection are far more important than the facts around his birth. Not saying I don't believe in the immaculate conception, just that I don't really give it a second thought. It can't be disproven...so it's a matter of faith.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

I believe that the measurement of time has been imperfect at best in ancient times. I believe a biblical year could be any amount of time and has changed over the ages.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

We are tolerant and loving, in the earthly world. Just as we are commanded to be by Jesus. God is a tender and loving God, but those who do not choose him, can't enter heaven. It's also not eternal, since after Jesus returns everyone is given a final shot to make a choice.

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

None of the sciences have disproven anything. So many articles of religion are neither provable nor disprovable, so many are a matter of faith. The facts surrounding Jesus birth, for example. There is no way to prove or disprove the events, so it is an act of faith to believe.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

Actually, 100% of prayers are answered. Sometimes the answer is 'No".

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

I know alot about all these...certainly there are many who know more. I work in the banking business, yet there are many people who know more about banking than me, some on this board even, but that doesn't make me any less a 'banker'.
Atheists and agnostics seem intent on trying to disprove Christians....why do they care? Why is it SO important to attempt to prove something wrong? Are they afraid it might actually be true?

You are both reaching for comfort and meaning to your lives. That is the real sad part. The answer is right before you, without all the supernatural BS.
