there's no way this woman was ever a lesbian. no way. and i'm not saying that based on her picture alone. i remember her harrassing builder and he kept telling her he didn't want to talk to her.

 

If one accepts that homosexuality or homosexual behaviour is a sin then it is easy to see how it can keep you from being close to God. I suppose a homosexual who gets saved will still struggle with that sin just like another christian struggles with his own temptations. I do not believe that if you are a christian you will engage in homosexual activity without any remorse for long periods of time. If you do not feel remorse for your sins, whatever they are, then I question if you are really a christian.

 

I have enough sin of my own to worry about before I start taking on others', thanks.

Edit - and the only way that you can accept that, IMO, is OT stuff that makes mixing cloth, eating pig, and having sex while she's on her period a sin too. Even if you accept all that, wearing wool and cotton wouldn't be any worse than man love.

 

It is mentioned in the new testament as well.

Romans chapter 1

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

No we are all sinners and anyone who thinks that homosexuals are worse than the rest of us is wrong. The only point I am trying to make is that we all need forgiveness for our sins and the only way to get it is to confess our sins to Jesus and ask him to forgive us. If you do not admit that your sin is in fact sin then how can you admit it to Jesus?

 

So Thelt, how many times have you asked for forgiveness for wearing a new polyblend pair of slacks with a cotton, wrinkle-free shirt? Or forgiveness for that barbq sammich? I doubt ever.

 

As you so often remind me, we are not under the old testament law. The new testament however spells out very plainly that homosexuality is a sin.
