Is it just me or do players celebrate after every play regardless of what the outcome was?

OK, it has occurred to me that player celebration after every play regardless of outcome is not a big topic around here.

    gutter...

    i just now saw this!

ya mean the dancing after scoring or making a big play or an awesome tackle or a sack?

i think it is just a reflex action/reaction, gut. hehehe...they be so happy, their shoulders just naturally shake and booties start to wiggle! i do believe it is an uncontrollable thing. however, i remember barry sanders never displayed any of that. he was so modest and reserve!

ok, this differs from "taunting" k? taunting is a violation. moss taunted once (maybe more than that! i only saw one) and got fined, lost 5 yards, etc. i forget what the referee gave him as penalty.

celebrating is one thing, taunting is another.
    ;)

    Thank you lexy.:mushy:

And I still don't understand why a cornerback who gets burned for 30 yards but puts a big hit on the receiver finds it necessary to act like he done somethnig grand. Or a DT making a tackle after a 6 yard run? It seems like it's mostly defense. Oh well, it just rubs me the wrong way.

I don't think that celebration after a gain is that good but it's like when Minter put a hit on that guy after a 40 yard completion. They're giving him props for his hit, which I think knocked that guy out of the game. Sure, it should be less, but remember they're excited over the play they made, the stop, the crushing hit, not the play overall.
I really don't get bent out of shape about celebration, though, which is why I never answered.

    anytime, gutter.

celebrations never really bothered me. i think it is almost like you dont know what you are doing and act goofy in public...i think it is so natural. i like it.

some denver doncos do the salute thing. it kinda annoys me. but thats just me, tho.
    :p

don't think it was a completion.

i love the celebrations. just think some of these guys need to put a little more practice into their routines. i mean afterall they're suppose to be pros. they get paid millions to entertain. you'd think they could spend a couple hours prior to games in front of their mirrors polishing their acts. i can remember in the good old days that it was an art form and not just this spontaneous crap they're doing nowadays. my alltime favorite was the "quake" by billy "white shoes" johnson.

Professional athletics is a Show, The Big Show, and they all know it and part of that is the celebration. Do not think I'm am taking anything away from the competition itself. Everyone one of these guys are prime specimens of human being and have athletic skills beyond compare. But it is still a Show and the goal is to sell tickets and stuff with the team/ players name on it and turn a profit.

The Cosby Quake wasn't bad either.

Was it Doug Cosby with Dallas? I don't remember. But I remember him acting like he was pulling out 6-shooters and firing them in the air.

back in the early 80's, i used to like the circle jerk the Redskins did in the end zone upon scoring .
