Forgive me if the title/theme is a repost.

Does anyone watch this station or tivo it, or watch on-demand cooking shows? Yeah I'm a little ashamed to admit I've been watching this for the lasts few weeks. I hadn't watched TV in 4 years and now I can't get enough of it.

Anyway, who's your favorite, and have you tried any recipes that have worked out well?

The wife loves Paula Deen...reminds her of her mother who passed away three years ago. I'm partial to Giada DiLaurentiis (sp) (easy to cook good Italian is always good in my book) and Emeril. Wish they has Rick Bayless, the Mexican chef on PBS...his food always looks killer.

I watch it and tend to catch the shows on Saturday mornings. Definitely a huge fan of Paula Dean. Usually go to Food Networks website to grab some recipes. Have used a lot of P. Dean's recipes (meatloaf, chicken divan, green bean casserole) and one of Emeril's Thanksgiving turkey recipes.

I caught one show where everything cooked was in a crockpot. It was entertaining, but this woman had like 6 crockpots going at the same time. My thought was "where can one store 6 crockpots in their kitchen?". That's just too many to own.

Alton Brown and his show...Good Eats, I believe...you'll learn the most about food and the "why/why nots" about cooking from this guy.

I've seen Bobby Flay's "Boy meet Grill" show a few times...a lot of good grilling ideas.

I hate that fucker with a passion. He just really gets on my tits.

Alton does some interesting stuff but you've got to pay attention, its like organic chemistry with him.

Yeah, Paula's great, but I gain weight just watching her. She is the poster woman for southern cooking. Every recipe starts with a bucket o' butter and cream cheese.

I think the Ellie Kruiger (sp) chick on Saturday's will go a long way. It's called Healthy Appetite and she sure makes some good looking stuff that doesn't seem too bad for ya. I like the fact she uses real stuff, but just not as much so you don't get the chemicals with unnatural low fat stuff.

Barefoot Contessa, (Ina Garten) has good recipes too and she had to grow on me. At first I wanted to make fun of her, but after watching her a few times, I've grown to like her. I am going to try her tabouli(sp) tonight.

Barefoot Contessa is my favorite. Paula Deen is fun to watch but the butter thing is crazy.
