hell no florida isn't going to any sec cg!!! they've lost rex grossman and two junior defensive linemen to the nfl draft and more may follow...not to mention the seniors that would be leaving anyway...all this from a team that lost the outback bowl. florida has a looooong way to go before it's back where it once was. even with leak i doubt it will ever happen, at least not under zook.

plus, there are 2 hs all-american quarterbacks already on the florida roster and i doubt either of them is going to just bow down and let leak start over them. i'm not sure i understand leak's reasoning behind going to fla but i guess it's not for me to understand!!!

i wish the kid good luck, until they play us!

hey IP..Is Alabama on USC's schedule in 2004? USC is listed on ours but for some reason I'm thinking that is a mistake. We just played USC last year and we havent played Florida since 99.

I didn't understand the Florida choice either. Its not like a Miami where winning tradition continued after Davis left... Leak could be headed to a school whose head coach gets fired in 2 years...

But the kid is smart, especially when he invited others to join him during the halftime of the Army HS game....

Leak is going to step in and be able to play 4 years there. RS next year and play the next 4.

I were him, I'd chosen Notre Dame. Being on TV every week, he could win the Heisman twice if he wanted. I don't think he wanted to leave the Southeast, so that eliminates Southern Cal, ND and Iowa. So it's Florida vs FSU. Given FSU's recent problems, I don't blame him.

The revenge factor vs. UT probably put them over the top. He was going with us until Clausen got hurt, and we had to pull his brother from a game. I'm not sure what mixed messages he's talking about. Fulmer talked all Summer about how if Clausen got hurt, we'd be in trouble, because the backups suck.

edit. And Florida, even without Leak, has more chance of making the SECCG than the Lamecocks do. Beat somebody for once.

exacly right, fla was never a power until spurrier got there. they had some years w/that pell guy but i heard he cheated..not sure on that. and even then, they were nothing like the spurrier years.

i wonder what's going to happen to them when zook gets canned. those fla fans are spoiled now and the outback bowl, especially losing it, isn't going to be good enough for them. and now that uga is a national power it's going to be tougher to get back on top. i know usc had a down year this year but holtz has brought in talent and a capable coaching staff. i feel like we can hang w/anyone now and nobody in cola is intimidated by any sec school like we used to be under brad scott some years back.

hey bryant, na we don't play and i'm glad too! bama could have won a bcs game this year if they weren't on probation. we have lsu next season and it's at home. good thing cause they're not half the team on the road that they are in death valley where we got our butts kicked this season.

btw bear, what do you think of bama's hiring mike price? he's a little old but i think it's a good move. i mean, just look what he was able to do up in pullman washington. i imagine recruiting and whatnot will be easier now that he is coaching a school w/more prestige like bama.

hey piper there was no need to turn this into a flame thread but since you insist...how about 'graduate' someone for a change. there's a novel idea. since those guys live right next to ut anyway...hell why not have them attend a class or two? what's the ut graduation rate anyway about 8%?

and you guys got blown out by mary's lamb in the peach bowl. i know we had a bad year but hey it's not like tennessee was rolling either. yaya i know 18-10...

No need for a flame war. Just a little smack. :)

I live in gamecock country, and I give what I take with all my gamecock friends.

I know we dont play next year. We play in 2004 again. I'll tell you about CMP in 2 years. Alabama not being bowl eligible really threw alot of bowl games off. Bowls were missing the No2 possibly No1 SEC team. This slid up all the SEC teams into a slot they probably should not have been playing in. Part of the reason the SEC crapped out in bowls this year.

Anyway, I do try to root for the Cocks when it isn't UT, and I watch them a lot. Here's how I look at it though.

Yall need a new coordinator, Junior ain't getting it done. Even when you had the players last year, I thought the play calling was terrible. You've got some great recievers, and no one to throw it. Two QBs whose idea of a pass is more like a long punt to the safety.

I think you will be better, like UT, you had to play a lot of freshman and softmores. That freshman WR is going to be very good.
