The Miami game is not all that he has done this season...if you had the opportunity to watch him throughout the season, you would have seen some spectacular catches...ones that I rarely see on Saturdays or Sundays.

So while he had a sub-par game against Miami because he was smothered....he is the man!!

By the way...I am sure that Pitt wanted to throw to him more. Maybe not the 100 times that was suggested, but was unable to.

Fitzerald is a cross between Randy Moss (athleticism), Jerry Rice (knowledge and preparedness), and Belitnikof (route running).

Fitzgerald is extremely talented and has had a great year. No question.

That said, if you look at Jason White's numbers this year they are fucking mind blowing.

He will walk away with the trophy with ease...
    Comp % - 65.4
    Yrds - 3,446
    TD - 40
    INT - 6
    Rating - 177.9

Regardless of surrounding talent. Those numbers are ridiculous.

Shocker...that are great numbers...but that is indicative of an offensive unit with a QB that is going against a weeker opponents....

Oklahoma can't help it they're so much better than everyone else. But anyway I agree Fitzgerald is the best player in the country.

I really don't see how you could even think Rivers could beat out White, Fitzgerald, or Manning. Fitzgerald is going to be a Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison type guy. Makes all the plays and keeps his mouth shut. Gotta love that, but I think White wins the Heisman.

You know, even though I agree with you on Fitzgerald I can't believe you'd even think to slam the teams Oklahoma played when you look at Pitt's schedule. I mean, it's not even close. In conference or out.

I'm not slamming thier schedule....or comparing them. Its just that White is being credited for the OU offense...that is seeing very little to stop them, while Fitzgerald is on an island. Its up to him to get open against double teams..make unbelievable grabs. By the way...does he drop the ball that much? And Pitt would have lost alot of games if it wasn't for his outstanding play.

So...look at the fact that Pitt wouldn't have even been in the running in the Big East without Fitzgerald. I think OU could have plugged in another QB and done just as well.

    You sure about that?

Odd that you would give credit to Larry for lighting up the Rutgers and Temples of the world but can't seem to give the same credit to White for lighting up the Baylors of the world. As well as Texas. And Okie State. And so on...... I can't remember White having a day like Larry did against Miami. Not one.

Another odd thing is that I keep telling you I really like Larry. He just ain't gonna win it this year.

Pfft!! Heisman....it's only a freakin' popularity contest, especially the way schools now conduct PR campaigns for their players for the Heisman now days....I used to get excited about the Heisman, but no more.
