The difference is that Greek said that blacks were superior athletes because of slavery, which was ridiculous and offensive.

    I also agree with Collin.

people are so hyper-sensetive these days. its a touchy subject with all the PC shit. poor choice of words, probably, but nothing that screams racist.

I heard someone on the radio today, BLACK guy, and his thoughts were some could read the statements as " Blacks are only good for running /athletics and nothing else"

personaly I think thats fishing for a controversy...and Im sure Jesse will address it sooner or later....

"You have to be careful the way you say things sometimes," the Penn State coach said. "Poor [Air Force coach] Fisher DeBerry got in trouble, but the black athlete has made a big difference. They have changed the whole tempo of the game. Black athletes have just done a great job as athletes and as people in turning the game around."

And people were trying to stir shit up based on that comment. Not a condescending word uttered in that statement, yet so called "reporters" were trying to pass the statement as racist. Mark May even went as far as to publically announce the statement as racist and imply that Paterno had something to appologize for. Then again, May is a Pitt alum, anything to help boost thier recruiting efforts would help I guess...since Wanny sucks and all. :banginghe
