They had a four episode marathon on Si Fi Chanel last night and it was the first time I got to see any of the series. After watching just one episode I was hooked. It reminded me of Brissco County jr. only in space. I love a pirate crew that could have only nine members with one being a whore and another a preacher, oll.
Fox really fucked up the marketing of that series. I think I am going to buy the whole fourteen episode boxed set.

The chick in the middle of that photo makes me want to watch and I've never even heard of this show.

Firefly is a GREAT show, Joss Whedon at his best. After watching Serentiy, I ordered the box set of Firefly that night and have been hooked ever since. If you do order the box set, make sure you listen to the commentary on some of the episodes....hilarious!

It was a great show, but like many, it probably wasn't best suited for network TV. Stuff like that and Arrested Development (although they're not at all related) probably would work better on a smaller cable network that could give it more support and not worry about viewership so much. The same number of viewers on Sci-Fi as Firefly got on Fox would make it one of if not their highest rated show ever. I think that's why Battlestar Galactica has worked as well as it has.

just had co-workers over for pizza and watching firefly.

half of them were fanatical about it. the rest of us had never seen it.

it was good. fun, quick -- some interesting lines.

i can't get past wash being steve the pirate though. i wish i would have never seen dodgeball. :(

and the captain rerminds me a LOT of the guy from sportsnight.

Firefly was/is awesome. What really is sad is that I never really knew about it until last fall when it started showing on Sci-Fi before the feature film came out. It would be nice if there were more.

Dunno about that.. Farscape drew a decent viewership and the critics liked it too. Didn't stop the fuckwits at Sci-Fi from cancelling it. The only thing that saves Sci-Fi imo is the Stargates (SG-1 and Atlantis) and Battlestar Galactica. What can ya say about people that play "The Beast of Bray Road"?
