It's hard to see an icon of college football refuse to see whats obvious to us all. It's time to retire and let Jimbo take over and get some offensive talent on the field. Florida State will be back, it's just a shame that Bowden let things slide in the last half dozen years.

there are four coaches with "head coach" in their official title:

    Bobby Bowden - head coach
Mickey Andrews - associate head coach
Chuck Amato - executive head coach
rick trickett - assistant head coach

jimbo doesn't even have "head coach in waiting" in his official title. he's just oc/qb coach

it's the defense that's really killing this program.

from a story in the paper:

A below-average defense if you go by the numbers. The Seminoles rank 98th (out of 120) in the nation in yards allowed and 60th in points per game.

But here's the real eye-popping stat for Andrews' unit. The Florida State defense allows more yards per completion than any other team in the country at 18.21. Yep. That's 119 out of 119. In fact, Florida International is the only other defense in the United States that allows over 16 yards per completion (16.28).

The Seminoles are also dead last in the nation in yards per attempt at 10.10. For comparison, the No. 1 defense in that statistic — the University of Florida — allows 3.9 yards per attempt.

That's some very interesting stuff but when I think of the demise of the Fla State program I think of the lack of quality qb play. It's been since Weinke that the Noles had a good qb. Can't discount those numbers though.

Trickett is the only O guy on there. So in theory he has some auth Jimbo doesn't.

I didn't know he was fourth on the coaching chart, that does suck for him.

Probably pisses those above him off a little bit also. He's the HCIW, yet they are above him.

is there a chance they don't give the job to Fisher?

I mean there's not much greater respect a team could have than the Redskins for Joe Gibbs, and they replaced Gregg Williams before they even had a head coach.

Who would you consider a good Fla State QB in the last 15 years ?
