    All I'm saying is that I don't buy into fan-generated hype. Because there was no hype about State's football outlook prior to this season otherwise.

    No consensus hype is really what I meant. Hell, I remember a couple of years ago that one site rated State #1 in the freaking country.

    you're right. the general thinking was that n.c. state would have a hard time replacing rivers and cocherty and that the schedule was a beast. nobody was talking BCS bowl.

    then again, nobody had virginia tech in the top half of the league, either...

    Yeah. It's too much of a crap-shoot for me to be convinced of a certain result. And of course I'm hopeful. I have the broken remote controls to prove it.

    I was in the damn band at State at the 93 Peach Bowl. I had to stay the whole time and them some. Got me a couple of fingers from the ECU fans and everything. *Sigh*
