that is just plain silly. you don't develope toughness that way. some bench warmer taking a cheap shot is not gonna do anything but make your team and the opposition hate you. who has Karros injured? Obviously when your own manager fines you, it is not welcome on your club. You wanna do something tough? plow a catcher legally, go into second hard and take out a double play, put a hitter on his ass, but don't karate chop a defenseless first baseman as you cross the bag. I remember that kind of move in 13 year old ball.

    wow we agree.
something is gonna be done, on the game last night, Tim McCarver ripped him and said it could hurt his chances of being on the roster next year and that Cox was that pissed about it.

The worst part of it is that even if he knocks the ball out of the glove, he's still out. It was a force play, and you only have to control the ball for an instant for it to be an out on a force.

finally saw this for the first time last night, and i have to agree. pretty cheap of fick. he should have thrown a forearm shiver and ran over him instead:D. lets not forget that karros hurt 2 of our guys at first when he was flopping around fielding throws.

Hell, I have been a Braves fan for years, but their lazy ass attitude in the playoffs is getting old. I honestly think they need to rebuild entirely from the ground up on this team. There may be about 3 to 5 players I would keep and neither of them are named Jones. Maybe things would change if Cox were gone.

I guess if they had to be beat I am glad it was the Cubs, that is the only other team that I have kept up with a lot because you can catch all of their games on TV.

lets see. you like UNC CH and the Braves. I guess you like the Cowboys too, at least when they are winning. Wouldn't surprise me if you like the Lakers too.

Not that any of this matters, but in order that I pull for them:
    NFL - Panthers, Tampa, Philly

NBA - Don't really care now, Hornets when they started, Bulls and Celtics so there goes your Lakers theory before that.

MLB - Braves, then really nobody after that, but always kept up with the Cubs because you could always catch them on TV around here. Used to like Boston back in the 80's with Yaz, Rice and Lynn.

NCAA Basketball - UNC of course, then NCSU

NCAA Football - UNC, Florida and NCSU

Let me guess for you metroid - UNCC in all of those?

I dont see why they brought Fick to Atlanta anyway. He cant hit, cant play defense either. He brought nothing with him. The off-season moves for the Braves did nothing to bolster their chances. Byrd from KC never pitched for them and their middle relievers got wore out starting in August, heck you could see this comming from a mile away. Their almighty lineup did nothing against the Cubs. I've been a Braves fan since the early eighties when they really stunk and I do appreciate what Cox has done for them but they have to be the worlds biggest all time post season chokers. 12 straight division titles and only one World Series victory? Not to mention the loses in NLCS play. The Braves should be ashamed of their play, they are the classic example of under achievers. Good riddance chokers. Go get 'em Cubs, YOU EARNED IT.

Well I think they have their off season cut out for them this year. They need to get a new 1B and 3B for sure, with some nice depth on the bench. I would really love to see a nice contact hitter who can work the count somewhere in the lineup. Furcal should be that person but just isn't, is Giles the closest we have?

Then there is pitching, they need to start over completely here. Maddux and Smoltz will be another year older. Byrd never played, Ortiz not bad, but the offense got him a lot of those wins, so overated, and then Hampton, he sucks to.

So seriously who would you keep from the pitching staff?

all you pussy-ass "so called" braves fans make me sick. us true fans really are disgusted with your type.

keep, ortiz, hampton, ramirez, maddox. byrd is a dominant pitcher and will be back next year.

we have an awesome 3b in the minors now. kid is insane but his name slips me so hang onto vinny until the kid is ready in a yr or so. 1b is a concern. getting javy back is big, but won't kill us if we don't. he had a career year this year (which happens alot right before free agency) so we shouldn't pay him too much to keep him around.

as for all you fans, i expect you to not be rooting for my braves next season with attitudes like that. go pull for the tigers or something dammit.
