I remain skeptical, as teams routinely leak information after firings to make the fired coach look bad. Even if it is true, it's also true that Fassel was very well liked by the players in New York.

The players suck, not the offense. The players are dropping passes, overthrowing balls, and missing blocks, not the offensive playbook.

We hung 29 on Chicago's ass in the playoffs. Regarding the rest of the season, it wasn't Henning's fault that he only had one receiver to work with and a boss who was too loyal to a broken-down running back.

I still think Fassel is a good coach. I also think it's a fun justice that he got scapegoated for Billick when Fassel scapegoated two very good coaches for his own ass; the thing is, Fassel needs to go run an offense with a defensive minded coach that won't meddle. If he does allright, good enough, he's earned another head coach job. I don't doubt at all that Billick and Fassel butted heads as the season wore on, and that the whole thing just didn't work out as well as they figured. If HC and OC are going to fire things off each other, or each have playcalling input, they've gotta be on the same page, which keeps ego battles and leg humping out of the equation.

Okay, Henning finally had a WTF moment this week -- Keyshawn's WR option that got picked. :brickwall:
