    Here's my story -

I've always eaten whatever I wanted and payed no price for it because my motabolism has always been really high but then I hit my 20's (I'm 28 now) Three weeks ago I was at the heaviest I've ever been in my life.

    I'm 6 foot tall and I was 214 lbs.

I've worked out off and on for the past 4 years or so. I've been a member of three different gyms. The first time was for only 6 months but I was in college in Jersery and did it my last semester there. I learned a lot from my roommate you was all into it.

Anyway I get home and join the World's Gym in concord. Everything went well for about 7 months but then I just go bored with it and eventurally quit going.

I got motivated again a little over a year ago and joined "MY GYM" also in concord. It was fun and my brother also went there for a while so I had a workout partner. He got a home Gym and I got bored again about 8 months into it.

Well, it's been about 5 months or so and I can't stand the extra weight that's on my frame. I can feel it when I run and I hate it.
About 2 months ago I bought a cheap bench at Wal-mart and 100 bucks worth of weight. I hate that bench. It's too small and is a piece of crap. Plus I don't have any extra room in my house and my wife hates it taking up half the bedroom. So I took it down and decided to take up jogging as I live in a pretty decent neighborhood.

    (to be continued)

    So here's my rountine now.

Every single day except for Friday for the past three weeks I've walked/jogged/ran around my neighborhood. I started out walking a mile. Yesterday I jogged over two miles and I go a little bit farther every day.

In addition to my excerise I started eating smaller portions of food at meals. I drink almost nothing but water which I love a hell of a lot more than diet drink. Uggg. I'm really cut down or eliminated chips, candy and sweet. I'll still have a Twix or something know and I don't try to eat a particlar kind of food. I just try to watch my overall calorie intake. So if I do eat a candy bar once in a blue moon I'll adjust the rest of my intake that day or week and excerise a little more.

After the first week I dropped 7 pounds. Down to 207.

But I know that's manily due to drinking water instead of soda. It happens everytime I switch to drinking water. I'll loose 5 to 10 pounds.

The seond week I'm up to a little bit over a mile jogged every day. The horror of shin splints hit me this week. That crap hurts so I skip jogging but continue walking. Same distance though.
When I check my weight I'm down to 204. I'm kind of surprised because of the shin splints.

This week I'm easing back into jogging but alternating it with walking. I'm up over 2 miles a day this week too and I really want to get a bike as I think it'll help with my shins and I can work out harder.

I want to add a little bit of weightlifting to my workout as I have the weights. I might just buy a small bench that I can fold up and stick under my bed or something.

Anyway, I'm hoping to loose a healthy 2 pounds a week which is a little on the aggresive side but hey, gotta set my goals high.
My target weight when I first started was 195 but I would really like to loose down to 185 of fat and put on 10 pounds of muscle.

concentrate on the fat loss first.

when you reach your target, see what you have to do to get the target muscle weight. Protein bars, shakes and diets will help. But thats what I recommend...really tough to do both at once.

Thats what I am doing now. Losing as much fat weight as I can, and I will work on adding muscle weight when I am at my target.

Franchise, that used to be my theory too - when I was much younger (I'm 42). To "shed" it quickly, doubling cardio with weight training definitely helps my metabolism. Not to "plug" any product - but take a look at "The Firm". Gorgeous women, doing combo training - they really make it work. My wife was a size 10, and now she's a 6 - she bought the tapes/set-up in January (instead of renewing her gym membership, which was great, since it CLOSED...)

I long for the days when I could eat everything in sight...two HUGE ice cream sundaes for dessert...my metabolism rocked through my 20's, even into my very early 30's. Then, it hit an iceburg...kind of like the Titanic.

Got up to almost 3 miles last night and jogged at least half of it. And best of all, no shin pain.

Broke down with my good eating over the long weekend. Ended up gaining 2 pounds back. I'm now at 104. Oh well, just gotta keep on trucking.
