Falcons switch to 4-3?

    KFFL has learned Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Reeves will gather his offensive and defensive coaching staffs together this week in order to review, and possibly tweak, both the team's playbook and starting lineup. In particular, LG Travis Claridge could be benched in favor of OG Roberto Garza, and, given the team's injury problems at linebacker, Reeves may consider the possibility of switching from a 3-4 defensive alignment to a 4-3.

    Whats interesting about that is that during the MNF game Blowbag er I mean Madden said the Falcons only had 4 d-lineman....period.

    They're too small up front for the 3-4. It took a pro coach with 199 wins 6 weeks to realize that?

    yeah, but take the tweeners, Overstreet, Karon Riley, Kerney, Brady Smith - that's four more that at least three of which have been playing OLB.

    That's my neighbor (Rob)! I hope he gets the chance...he was doing good last year until he broke and ankle....this year they were trying him out at Center when he tore a bicep (or tricep?)...

    Man, it's been sad reading about how the Birds are falling apart. I mean, they make it hard for me to hate 'em:D They seem so different from the Panthers last year....I remember alot of grumbling in the 8 game losing streak, but nothing like this. I occasionally listen to a weekly radio show by the Falcon's Bob Whitfield...last week he was on the air with a hypnotist trying to help him (Bob W.) figure out why he was playing so poorly this year. :rolleyes:

    They chalked the Tampa game up to playing a strong defense, but they couldn't seem to see the same thing when they lost to Carolina. They couldn't see that they've played two of the strongest defenses in the league who HAPPEN to be division rivals...

    The team mentality seems really fragile right now (listening to the radio and reading the newspaper), and its contributed to them falling apart at the seams, as evident from that Monday Night Spanking the got from St. Louis.
