I actually watched the doc and it was pretty good. They absolutley lambasted Laetner though. Pretty boy, bitch, etc. It was rather humerous. Of course, they said all that changed when they met on the floor and they realized Laettner actually had game. I had forgot about that first UM/Duke matchup that went into overtime.

Not really even sure why they're making a documentary about a team that never won a National Championship with those players.

Never quite been the collection of talent, especially all freshmen, at one school. Still, yeah, takes more than talent to win sometimes. I think they made the doc about themselves as I saw several of them listed as producers, etc. I liked how the doc showed the Final Four banners packed away in the school library.

If you look at the NBA careers of those guys only Chris Webber did much. Juwan Howard was OK for a while. The Duke and UNC teams they lost too had about as much success in the NBA. Grant Hill probably would have been the best out of all three teams if not for his injuries.

Rose has been in the NBA for almost two decades.

Juwan Howard and G Hill are still in the NBA. beyond solid careers. Webber really hasn't done any more than those guys, just flashier. he dated Tyra Banks in her prime so hes got that going for him.

Um, no. Rose, Webber and Howard all accomplished more individually in the NBA than anyone from UNC 93. George Lynch would be the only one on that team that's even close, and he was a role player at absolute best. Webber and Howard both made All-Star teams, and Rose had a few near-dominant years with Indiana (as well as a long career.)

You could not have been any further off with this comment. Chris Webber was a top 3 PF in the league for anywhere around 4-7 years. His knees failing him was the only thing that stopped him from being a HOFer. If you want to project what could have been with Hill, you need to do the same for webber. He led those Kings teams, and he was a PF that actually played the 4 like a PF should, something we don't see much anymore.

Juwan Howard was Christian Laettner in the NBA, but way better, and a longer career. And it ain't as if ole chest stomper wasn't a useful role player that could give you 20 minute and hit the 15 ft jumper for 10 years, but Howard is still in the league. Not really a useful player anymore, but neither was laettner for his last 3-4 years.

Rose was a unique talent, a poor mans magic johnson. Not nearly as good, but an extremely difficult matchup that could do just about anything, and guys hated to go up against him on the offensive end. He was a giant pain in the ass. Never liked his sourpuss face, but he could ball. Bobby Hurley...who knows what he could've been. maybe a poor mans stockton?

The Fab Five, love them or hate them, were a special bball team.
