any city that doesnt have a team 35 miles away....you are fractioning the Os funds and they are now another Kansas City Royals a team that wont make enough $ to compete...with a team in DC and another in Philly and another in Pitt the Os have no place except Northern Maryland and some parts of Western Maryland...Comcast Hunt Valley, Baltimore, and Frederick are the only cable outlets to air Os games.

why move one franchise to mess up another?

that's Baltimore's problem. Baltimore will NEVER compete as long as they are in the same division with the Yankees (and the Redsoxs for that matter). They still have some t.v. rights in the d.c. region according to the agreement to move the team there.

THE BOTTOM LINE: As long as the O's have Peter Angelos as an owner, they will continue to stink :( :( . . . . . He has had how many GM's & managers there since he's bought the team ? He has one of the nicest ballparks in the country and one of the most loyal fans in the game . . Please don't tell me the O's will die if the Expos move to DC TimTam   . . A combined area with 7.5 million people should be able to support 2 teams (see Bay Area, Chicago, NYC, LA).

Once again, Angelos is a genius . . He is negotiating a compensation pacakge he technically doesn't deserve to get. DC isn't taking away any part of his market as defined by MLB (the O's market is defined as Baltimore City/County and its immediate surrounding counties). Selig is doing this so Peter won't sue MLB and to keep his mouth shut. Angelos will make a killing on the team if he ever sells it. He is getting revenue from the proposed new regional sports network MLB is setting up to air both teams games. The O's will be sold for a guarantee amount of money (if it falls below a certain figure, MLB will make up that figure). I don't think Mr. Angelos is going to go hungry at night   . .

    O's/MLB Compensation Talks Near Conclusion?
