I owe my success on so many projects to a couple of you here at TBR.. you know who you are, thank you so much. :mushy:

Now I have another question. :wings:

I know how to do a validation list for one cell ie.. to fill one cell with one criteria from a list. However, I would like to be able to populate a cell with more than one item from a list.

Ie... if I have a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j to choose from. I want to put a,c,f,h all in that one cell. Can I do that or does just one item from the dropdown populate the cell only?

    Thank you

Yeah I think it would if I am understanding you correctly, and I'm not sure how to do it which would basically put me in another learning curve.

Basically, every time I get a new account or things change with docs I have to make these very detailed spreadsheets with very specific data in them.
It's very tedious work because it's not common terminology... Ie... spgr, fse-xl, T2* and there are literally hundreds to do at one account.
So...in order for people who don't understand what it means to be able to copy that information, I can give them a spreadsheet they can use the dropdown with. This will save tons of time and assure quality.
However- Under one cell, I need to be able to input several of the options, not just one per cell. I can't figure out how to do it because if I choose more than one, it just replaces it. I tried using shift/ctrl etc... to see if that would let me choose multiple choices.

I don't think there is an easy way to do that. It would require vba code to concatenate the multiple selected values into a string. I'm not sure there is a control in Excel that allows for multiple items to be selected either.

Basically you would need a bunch of check boxes with the selectable items and then some command to fire some code to check each value and add it to the string if it's selected.

there may be an easier way depending on how this thing has to be setup

you could add a form window that would allow for multiple item selection but that's complicating things a bit

Well, as you know my excel knowledge is limited. I do a few a year and use them for practical uses, not an every day thing with me.
I hoped it might be an easy fix, and would make things easier to input here, but learning it and applying it to this particular project would take as much time as just doing it all the 'old fashioned' way.
There's only 2 cells out of 16 I'll have to input by hand.

No biggie, I just thought if it were easy to do, it would save some time.

    Thanks again.
