MARK you are VERY talented. That was awesome, don't waste that talent.

Cunningrunt: God did not create the world and walk away. Our ongoing experience of life is a continual participation in the creation process, it is never over.

This sounds like a fancy way to admit Evolution exists without actually saying it.

I don't see where anyone in this thread has stated that evolution doesn't exist. Things clearly change. The strongest traits get passed on to the next generation. No one disputes that.

However, I don't see how that has any effect on God's role as the Creator of the universe.

That's so tragically over-simplifying the debate that I'm tempted to not dignify it with a response, but somehow I get the feeling you wont let this rest unless I do, so here goes.

As I've stated in this thread (now for a third time), you can't sensibly deny the existence of evolution - the idea that things change over generations due to adaptations to environment as well as the simple fact that stronger genes are more likely to carry on to the next generation.

That definition of evolution (emphasis on the lowercase "e") is not synonymous with the Theory of Evolution (emphasis on the uppercase "E") that says [paraphrasing here] all life originated from the primortal goo.

Therefore, its easy for one to believe in the Biblical story of The Creation as well as acknowledge that there is such a phenomenon as evolution.

[beyond this, there are many people who believe in a more liberal interpretation of the Bible where the Theory of Evolution and The Creation co-exist, but I'm not really in that camp, so I'll refrain from trying to make that argument for them.]

So how do Dinosaurs fit into the whole Adam and Eve story? If you argue that Dinosaurs and Humans co-existed, then why did the impact event(or whatever theory you believe) that triggered the extinction of the Dinosaurs not also wipe out Humans?

You also cannot separate evolution(lowercase) from Evolution(uppercase). The Theory of Evolution introduced evolution, so the two ARE synonymous. It had been studied before Darwin, but he expanded on it. To try and separate the two is playing both sides of the debate.

Personally, I don't believe The Creation story in Genesis is meant to be taken literally. The point is that God is infinite and that he created the world - all of the world - effortlessly. I believe prehistoric animals existed before Man was created. However, that doesn't mean I believe Man came from a single cell organism.

Don't know how to respond to this other than to say I simply don't agree. I think it's a big jump to go from "generations change" to "we all come from single cell organisms in the primortal goo".

Let me finish up by saying for the third time, this is totally off topic from the purpose of this thread, and frankly, a topic that doesn't interest me very much. I'm done commenting on it here. If you or anyone else wants to continue this discussion (which has already been beaten to death in other threads here in the forum), why don't you start another thread.

Many things are now extinct that didn't wipe out man.
I always wonder. HOW many dinosaur fossils have we found, the earth is a HUGE place.
