This is one entertaining match. If they can keep this up for the full 90, it will be one of the all time classics.

Very nice free kick for the equalizer by RVN.

Russia deserved it. Holland looked flat and I'm wondering if resting everyone against Romania was a good idea.

If Russia remains this sharp they'll be very hard to beat. The Dutch looked off today but then the Russian's kept the pressure on them for most of the game. Russia deserved the win.

The Spain-Italy game should be great today. It's way past time for Spain to win a major tournament considering the talent they've had. Or will they choke again?

I did like the touch where you prove yourself wrong though.

Russia was very impressive yesterday. They did keep the pressure on the Dutch and always looked the more likely side to take the match. Arvasdian (or whatever his name is) looked total class. The yelling match the keeper and defender got into was interesting.

The Dutch did blow some good chances though. From here on out I guess I'll pull for Russia or Germany.

And here I thought you'd taken my advice and shut your mouth. Naive, I know.

    * You claimed that the red card for tackles from behind rule was never implemented. I provided a link from SI proving that you were wrong.

    * You claimed that the rule was removed, but I provided links from FIFA proving you wrong.

    * You have provided exactly zero links or evidence to support your position, with the only thing you have posted being a list of send off offenses where you failed to include the very next passage in Laws & Misconduct that specifically mentioned what you claimed it did not.

You were wrong, you know it, and you're lying about it because you're a piece of shit that can't just acknowledge an error. Seriously, man, what the fuck? Everyone makes mistakes and no one expects you to know everything, so you would have saved yourself a whole lot of embarrassment if you had just been able to say "I was wrong." But it's not possible for you to say those words, is it?

Primarily, because you don't know what you're talking about.

If it was implemented as you claim, then why was Blatter upset at how the ref were inconsistent?

Please quote where I said that.

I have previously provided the FIFA rules. If you're pissed that they prove you wrong -which they do - I suggest that you fly to Geneva and lodge a complaint.

You do understand that for you to be right in this idiotic argument that you are trying to pick with me that you prove yourself to be wrong in your first post, don't you? Or is this one of your intentional lies - sorry mistakes?

And as for proof? I have the current FIFA rules, which say nothing about required cards for tackles from behind. And I have this, which clearly states that the ammendment that you are hanging your hat on leaves room for interpretation as to the endargerment of the tacklee as the reason for the card.

Which sounds an awful lot like:

BTW, in about the 23rd minute or so, Van Bronkhorst had a tackle from behind with no chance of getting the ball at all and received no card.

I am sure that you will continue to try to claim you're right, but it is apparrent to everyone that you are flailing around in an some sort of futile attmept to be seen as an expert in soccer.

    Hint - it's not working.

It's awesome to see you say this when I've already proven you wrong with numerous links while you have yet to provide any at all that support your assertion.
Sports Illustrated is claiming it, dumbass. If you think they were lying about it, call them and complain.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/world/events/1998/worldcup/news/1998/06/13/mexico_second/
"LYON, France (CNN/SI) -- FIFA's decision to change the rules on tackles from behind was designed to provoke more scoring and protect the offensive player. Mexico provided FIFA with the perfect demonstration tape on Saturday. Benefiting from a man-advantage after a South Korean player was given a red card for just such a tackle, Mexico came back from a one-goal deficit to score three times in the second half for a 3-1 victory and its first World Cup match win in Europe."

How you can just lie and pretend that the rule wasn't implemented is astonishing to me.
    Right here, you lying asshole:
They don't, you lying piece of shit. YOU ONLY QUOTED THE FIRST PART OF LAW 12 - FOULS AND MISCONDUCT. In the part right after what you quoted, Decision 4 of the International F.A. Board said this until 2005:

" A tackle from behind, which endangers the safety of an opponent, must be sanctioned as serious foul play."

And what is #1 on the list of sending-off offenses? That's right, if any player "is guilty of serious foul play."

The wording was changed in 2005 to place greater emphasis on dangerous side and front tackles in addition to all tackles from behind: http://www.msrarefs.ca/documents/FIFA LOTG/FIFA Circular 968.pdf

"Reason: A tackle from behind but also from the side or the front, considered to be done with excessive force which injures or could have injured the opponent, must be sanctioned as serious foul play and therefore the offender must be sent off."
YES THEY DO YOU LYING PIECE OF SHIT. Again, YOU ONLY QUOTED ONE PART OF LAW 12 - LAWS AND MISCONDUCT. You conveniently left out the part that said:

" A tackle from behind, which endangers the safety of an opponent, must be sanctioned as serious foul play."

    Newsflash, lying asshole:

#1) Elric agreed with me. NO ONE has agreed with you.

#2) I provided abundant evidence showing that I'm correct. You haven't provided anything at all even suggesting that i might be wrong.

#3) You won't even admit that you were wrong about the rule being implemented at all, even though I gave you a link from SI describing it being enforced in the 1998 World Cup.

Everyone knows that you're wrong and that you're a lying piece of shit who will say anything just to avoid admitting that you made a mistake. You are a coward.

    You claimed:
PROVIDE A LINK TO BACK UP THIS STATEMENT.

    You claimed:
PROVIDE A LINK TO BACK UP THIS STATEMENT.

And just in case you missed this part, Elric said:

Also, keep in mind that you're the one who ruined this thread by being a pretentious, know-it-all dickhead. Elric and I were trying to be polite in correcting your dumb ass, but you had to pretend like you're the expert on soccer and continue to spout bullshit even after I provided links proving you wrong. So yet again
EITHER ADMIT THAT YOU'RE WRONG OR SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH.
