    "Pole-smoking supercunt." For insults to have a real flourish they should both have a visual and auditory component. If something is clunky-sounding or doesn't roll off the tongue, it won't have as much impact. And as you can tell, I'm a big fan of alliteration.

    True, but that's both ordinary and too short. Alliteration works better with paired syllables, not unlike musical notes. If you put the alliterative sounds right next to each other, they don't develop a flow.

    That is FIFA saying how the rule should be interpreted, whether the ref calls it or not. But it is not specifically how the rule is written.

    You have a valid arguement.....just not in the context of it being what is actually the rule as written. And that was the initial debate and how the thread started.

    Regardless of this argument, this has been the best soccer tournament I've ever seen. Too bad today's match didn't live up to expectations, but overall it's still been a joy to watch.
