Yeah, it all started because some americans kept using the term soccer instead of football. Those bastages are loony.

Anyone in this thread play FIFA08 or the new Euro game?

valiant effort from Turkey, falling 3-2 to Germany.

Too bad the WORLD FEED went in the dumper, and we missed a bunch of the game.

Horrible goalkeeping from both sides. Maybe 1 or 2 of the 5 goals weren't shitty.

No, you moron. In the 2007/2008 Laws of the Game, it's listed under Decision 4 which we've been arguing about for four god damn pages. That's on the top of page 41. In the 2008/2009 Laws of the Game, which WYDD linked to, it says "A tackle that endangers the safety of an opponent must be sanctioned as serious foul play" on page 117. It's pretty amusing for you to call me a liar just because you were too stupid to follow along.

As Bobby McMahon said, it's not specifically spelled out in "the Laws of the Game," but it is in the part called "Instructions to Referees."
INSTRUCTIONS TO REFEREES IS PART OF THE FUCKING RULES.
What did you think those instructions were? Just suggestions? Maybe recommendations on good places to eat after the match is over? You're the guy who has repeatedly lied because you're a pussy who can't admit when he's wrong. You're still lying about the rules supposedly never being implemented, you're lying about Bobby McMahon supposedly agreeing with you when the whole purpose of Elric posting that was to show that you were wrong, and you're lying about tackles from behind drawing a red. Initially it was an honest mistake and you could have avoided all this grief just by acknowledging it, but now you know better and you're lying because you care more about never admitting that you're wrong than you do about being correct.
Sure, just as offensive linemen get away with holding and Derek Fisher got away with fouling Brent Barry. Presidence mocked you a long time ago for acting like refs never miss calls or swallow their whistles. You expect everyone to believe that you're the world's biggest idiot when you pretend that you don't understand that.
Again, in football you can get away with holding if you do it subtly. That's the same reason that the player in possession tries to exaggerate the foul, because everyone knows that the refs are more likely to notice and punish something demonstrative. If it's subtle, you can sometimes get away with something that's against the rules, but it is still against the rules.

If it were up to me, it would, but vpkozel would never have the spine for that. He's a coward who runs his mouth on the internet but would be absolutely terrified of ever backing up his word in person.

Because that was an argument about a specific fact. No one can pretend to be right when they get the number of touchdowns wrong. In this case, though, because you're an ignorant asshole who holds a grudge against me you keep arguing even though I've produced quotes from the god damned president of FIFA saying exactly what I claimed. That's what bugs the shit out of me. There isn't any clearer proof that I could provide than Joseph Blatter specifically and directly saying that all tackles from behind should be punished with a red card. That's as god damned clear as it fucking gets, but you're still bitching.
Bullshit. You're saying that the direct quote of the FIFA president isn't definitive proof and you want me to believe that this isn't you being bitter about all the many times I've humiliated you and made you feel like a know-nothing jackass? Come on.
You won't answer anyway because you're a fucking coward. As for your question, we've already covered ten thousand times that FIFA's directive has not been specifically spelled out in the "Laws of the Game" since 2005, but as Bobby McMahon pointed out, it is covered in "Instructions to Referees" which is still part of FIFA's rules. Plus, the "Laws of the Game" do state that dangerous tackles are red carded and FIFA has decreed repeatedly that all tackles from behind are to be considered dangerous.
Again, we're not fucking two years old. What kind of infantile idiot are you that you need to see something in a picture before it exists to you?

According to the rules they are, but if you bother to read the first page (and I wouldn't recommend reading any of this unless you are curious about what lengths vpkozel will go to avoid admitting any mistake), Elric and I both said that refs will generally give a yellow or red. Vpkozel disagreed and said that no card is necessarily given, which was idiotic, but he has to pretend like it's correct because he's claimed to be an expert on soccer. A couple of pages ago Elric posted a response from Bobby McMahon (soccer analyst for Fox Sports) confirming that vpkozel was wrong, but even that didn't slow him down. He has repeatedly lied instead of just admitting that he's human and made a mistake, but I guess he feels like people wouldn't view him as vpkozel The Soccer Expertâ„¢ if he did.

One particularly stunning brunette caught my eye during one of Sweden's matches. Someone I know informed me that she was Oksana Andersson (#10 on your link), a model and wife of one of the players.
