ESPN3 on Time Warner Cable internet

    Read in the USA Today that it is supposed to start up on 10/25

    Just in time for college basketball, great news.

    Also, if you have an Xbox 360, the new dashboard is supposed to come out Nov 21st I think. That (along with an XBox Live sub) will let you stream ESPN3 right to your HDTV without the need for a home theater PC.

    You sure ESPN isn't already offered on xbox live? The website makes it sound like it's available now if you have access to espn3.com.

    I've got Xbox Live but the new dashboard is still in beta. Unless you have the new dashboard you cannot access ESPN3.

    And even if I could, TWC has not turned on ESPN3 yet. The people with the beta dashboard and TWC cannot access live events on ESPN3, they can however get the pre-recorded stuff to stream.

    edit: MS just redid their Xbox site a couple of days ago, they may have jumped the gun on it a bit. Of course I could be mistaken and just don't see the option on my dash.


    edit2: The website does seem to insinuate that you get ESPN3 if you have XBL Gold, however, I don't think that is the case until the new dashboard rolls out. At the bottom you see an asterisk saying that 'Kinect controls are not available until Nov.' I assume the dashboard will come out around the same time as the Kinect camera. As far as I can tell, you can't access ESPN3 with the current dash.

    Apparently you have to subscribe to ESPN through Time Warner Cable to have access to ESPN3 through their internet.

    I shouldn't be surprised but I'm still going to send them a bitchy email in the morning. Hopefully with XBox Live it will still work to some level.

    don't worry, i haven't gotten past the "loading" part of anything yet. You haven't missed anything.

    espn3.com is working now. the new dashboard update for xbox live appears to be coming out nov 1st.

    Yep, looks like tomorrow for the new dash. I'm anxious to see if TWC figured out a way to lock me out of that too :)

    My tagline is getting old, might be time to switch it up.

    well, i downloaded the espn app, but it says that my isp isn't supported so i can't only watch videos and not live events. sent them an email, we'll see what happens after that.
