I'm still not sure what they saw in Everette Brown.

My guess would the to platoon Brown, Hardy, and Norwood. Don't like Norwood there when he seems like a good blitzer, situationally. They seem to want that right end to be able to drop. There is a chance that brayton plays situationally at right end if he stays but I kinda doubt it. They could move CJ but he fits right side better, even in the unlikely situation we run multiple fronts this year.

    More on Smitty

The San Diego Chargers are one of the teams that's been cited as a speculative trade destination for current Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith. Though Smith's production on the stat sheet has gone down over the past two seasons, that's partially due to the quarterback situation in Carolina: in 2009, it was the declining Jake Delhomme for much of the season, and in 2010, it was the overwhelmed Matt Moore and rookie Jimmy Clausen.

The thinking goes that with a better QB throwing him the ball, we could see the vintage version. The Chargers have such a passer on the roster, and that man appeared on ESPN's "Jim Rome is Burning" Wednesday.

When asked about Smith, Philip Rivers responded gleefully, "Bring it on. We have a great deal of weapons, and I certainly appreciate each and every one of them, but any chance you can add a guy of that caliber, I'm all for it."

Rivers wouldn't figure to be a tough sell on this, but he's also not the one making the trade. General manager A.J. Smith is not afraid to make a swap, and it'd be a logical fit for a team that's looking to return to the ranks of the contenders in 2011. The deciding factor could end up being the price the Panthers expect in trade.

The football outsiders have an article on the top 10 most disappointing sophomore seasons. Keary Colbert came in at 9.
Micheal Clayton the Bucs Wideout came in at 2. Number 1 was Reggie Brooks RB for the Redskins in the early 90s.
