Updated NFL Rosters, with the 2006 Rookie Class

All rosters have been compiled and reconfigured based on the roster information from NFL.Com (current as of June 2nd, 2006). Specific Players have also been moved to their correct positions, based on the current rosters from NFL.Com. All well-known and recognizable starters are there and playing the position that the NFL roster says they are.

The roster update includes the first round rookie class, plus the most of the notable players from the rest of the draft (offensive lineman excluded due to space, and less recognition). Roughly 99% of the rookies have photos that closely resemble the face of the actual player. Some photos are almost dead-on. You'll be impressed. If a picture is not present for a certain rookie that you’re looking for, it’s because there was no picture that resembled that player enough.

*Each rookie’ statistics were compiled based both on scouting reports, and my own researched opinions.

*Each rookie has his correct height, weight, date of birth and College.

*Each rookie has his correct equipment, based on his preferences from College.

*I have set the update so that Dan, Peter, and Chris Berman all speak the last names of most of the rookies, including players such as Vince Young and Lendale White.

NOTE 1: I have set the update so that Dan, Peter, and Chris Berman all speak the last names of most of the rookies, including players such as Vince Young and LenDale White. However, for some strange reason, (probably due to variations during data transfer), a name like Lendale White may be spoken as “Darryl White” or “Number 21”. This can easily be fixed with Finn’s editor, so I strongly suggest that you download it so that you can be prepared to fix it if the problem arises.

NOTE 2: The 2005 rookie class was compiled by another user on the net last year, but that compilation was missing the players actual birth dates, and some jersey numbers were incorrect. I have gone back over them and completed the birth dates for the entire 2005 rookie class.

NOTE 3: Due to the fact that the NFL is only in mini-camps at this point, the jersey numbers in the roster update are not final. Rookie jersey numbers are temporary, and will change over the course of the next few weeks. All final jersey numbers will be present WHEN they are finalized.

NOTE 4: Obviously, with a game released a few calendars ago, there are going to be players missing from some rosters… This is so, because they were not in the original game, and there is no room to add them. But don’t worry, because any player who is missing is not an impact player. Chances are, you won’t even realize that he’s not in.

NOTE 5: If a player who should be on the team is in the free agents list, it’s because there was no room to place that player, and he was not enough of an impact player to warrant the release of another player already on the roster.

NOTE 6: No Kickers, Punters or offensive lineman were created for the purposes of preserving space for later updates. At the time of this writing, the Titans Kicker Rob Bironas (and some other punters) cannot be found in the game, and I will not create him. It’s a waste of space, but you are more than welcomed to choose Kickers and Punters from the Free Agents list. If it is a new Kicker or Punter who is just coming into the league, you may overwrite a retired player (if available) and use Finn’s editor to construct him and place him at the right position.

NOTE 7: If somehow your favorite player, or a player that you REALLY enjoy playing with is not in the game, you may request that player to be included in the next update. Requests will be granted, provided, that space is still available and the player is relevant.

NOTE 8: Occasionally, strange things happen to the roster files as they transfer from the PC to the XBOX, and of course, over the ‘net. So, if you see the wrong helmet or other equipment on a player, please understand that it was not an over-sight, and that the issue is beyond my control. Fortunately, you can always make a simple fix on your own.

    NEW!* 127/64 Aggression Formula

Some of the minor gripes that 2K players have had about 2K5:

*There is a little bit of ferocity missing in many of the hits.

*There are very few deep, downfield completions by the CPU.

*Receivers are not aggressive enough with DB's.

*The defensive line does not attack the offensive line with as much ferocity as you would like.

I've been examining the possible reasons behind this since the game was released, and I believe that I have come up with a model that balances out the aggressiveness evenly; offering not only a more competitive game, but one with more SPARK and INTENSITY:

*Offensive Lineman and secondary players, all have an aggressiveness rating of 64

*Defensive Lineman, Running Backs, Fullbacks, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends and Linebackers, all have an aggressiveness rating of 127.

    *Quarterbacks are rated at 64.

*Punters and Kickers are rated at 64.

These ratings may seem strange or even unimportant to you at first, but rest assured that the way they have been set, neither the offense nor the defense have an advantage over the other, and it does make a difference. Through testing, I have found that my rating set brings about the following advantages (keep in mind that this is what I've witnessed while testing, results may vary):

*Greater, more realistic intensity of movement during plays

*More realistic ferocity in the collisions.

    *A few more punishing hits

*More intensity and aggression between the offensive and defensive lines.

*A few more tackles by the defensive line, as opposed to the secondary.

*An interestingly noticeable amount of the rarest most realistic collision, tackling and falling animations, happening more frequently.

*Some animations happening that I haven’t seen before, and keep in mind, I have been playing this game since it came out.

*More realistic timing during plays… You know how the CPU has trouble getting a good rush on your QB? Well, now you’ll have to make quicker decisions just like you would as a real NFL Quarterback… That is, unless you enjoy being on your back!

*More of the coolest catch animations and after the catch sequences.

Now, this is what I’ve seen while testing the ratings set. It has been consistent from game to game, but once again, results may vary.
