"Near" is a subjective term, isn't it? :imagestor

i suppose. but if near is to mean some time in the next 2000 years or more, then i would say it's not a going concern.

That's the thing -- nobody knows. It could happen in the next 15 minutes, could happen in 1000 years. Each is just as likely. The safe warning to give, then, is "soon". It's all about getting ready and staying that way. That part of the warning is even spelled out in the Bible by Jesus Himself.

END TIMES IN A NUT SHELL: The new 'buzz' going around is that the new Pope (Gregory) is the 2nd to the last Catholic Pope (based on the prophecies of an Irish bishop from the 1100's: Supposedly, he had a vision that showed him who the next 112-119 popes were going to be). The next Pope will call himself Peter II and steer the world away from believe in the Christ as the Son of God. Christ is suppose to come back and 'rapture' the believers before the Tribulation period takes place (which is comprised of 3.5 years of good and 3.5 very, very, very bad years on earth. Read the Book of Revelation for details :) !!!!!!!).

Tonight on INSP, I saw Jack & Rexella Van Impe (End Time Preachers Extradonaire) with David Cerullo and his wife takling about recent world events and how everything is lining up to usher in Jesus return/Tribulation. It was interesting hearing how our courts our starting to line up with what Europeans think (i.e. see the recent death penalty for minors ruling from Justice Scalia. He cited how other countries looked at this issue as one reason he voted to over turn it). They talked about some secret society (The Illumnati  ? ? ) in the 1870's that predicted-planned WW1/WW2/WW3. Also they talked about folks have been meeting with Miakel Gorbachev in San Francisco (various world organizations . . I didn't get all their names) recently, how European countries are getting away from God, and some secret society that was meeting in Europe not too long ago who told secuirty guards if any of them saw any press snooping around, they had orders to shoot to kill (again I missed the name). You can get the 2 videos with all the details by only making a $50 contribution to INSP so they can air their shows in Europe/Middle East (which is going to be the heart of the NEW WORLD ORDER** like the old Roman Empire days) and give folks in those areas to hear the good news and get saved before all hell breaks out here on Earth.

**Nooooo, we ain't talking about Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall & Diesel :D :D !!!!!!!!

Non-christians and casual christians seem to be more interested in "end of time" prophecy than devout christians for some reason.

Could be the case. When I was growing up I had a cousin who was like an older brother and he was wild and did drugs and was always drinking and stuff. He would hang around and talk to my dad about religion some times. He was always really interested in the end of time stuff.

I have never really worried much about it. I have accepted Christ and he will take care of me regardless of what happens.
