Employer e-mail and internet monitoring

    Both and you can't delete them because your access to rights on the server is limited

    Correct. Most corporate monitoring is done via some sort of software native to the firewall, which can/will do 2 things:
    -Block access to the requested site
    -Send an email alert to a sys admin and/or a manager

    However, you are actually incorrect in saying that it is very expensive. I have a netgear ro318 that does stateful packet inspection, content filtering and logging, and has email alerts and only cost around $160. Now granted this is more than the average home user will want/use, but then again, I do just a bit more than the average user. I don't believe it is quite as robust as the corporate $4000 solution, but I assure you, it does work.

    You're right, rool, it doesn't have to be expensive. I was thinking about third-party enterprise-type software. Also, I doubt that a company would use a software package like the one that came with your router to monitor network traffic on a rack full of Cisco routers and switches.
