Ih he's coming to Midnight Madness as reported. welcome EJ Drayton back to Charlotte.

EJ has certainly risen in the eyes of the NBA. We all heard what a great freshman year he had when we recruited Spooner. And, it was statistically dominant.

But, check out what the NBA says...
He's listed at 6-8, 220 pounds. Overall, EJ is the 28th BEST sophomore in the country among ALL major college, high school and junior college players no matter the position.

The NBA also ranks EJ as the #1 Small Forward in the JuCo ranks, holding an edge over Donta Smith (headed to Louisville).

The Juco Report in Street & Smith's ranks him 1st Team All-America and has his photo on page 152. Same publication has Vincent Grier on the 2nd Team and Smith as POY.

He's an absolute stud and it would be sensational for us to land someone who is both local and dominant.

I don't like to talk recruiting much because A) seems like the ones we covet go elsewhere, and B) if they do come, the player is often disappointing. It seems like our best players in school history were sleepers others didn't want....but, this guy sounds legit, however one thing is certain, I would not sign with us until the conference train wreck is completed. Until that pans out, we will be hurt on the recruiting trail.

Real, do you fell like there's a chance he'll commit this weekend?

Also, what about this Mitch Mullis? Who is he, I've never heard of him. I kind of feel like metro, until the conference mess shakes out, we're doomed, teams will use it against us.

You guys know I like the recruiting stuff. Sounds like Drayton will make it official this weekend (story on rivals premium and word of mouth) No place like home for one of the top players in the NATION.

Real was all over it two years ago. :D

Um, you sure about that? I thought Rivals was reporting that Iowa St has the second visit for Drayton....if that's true, I wouldn't count on a commitment when he comes here for MM

It said ISU is second on his list of schools, unless I misread the whole story. His coach sounded pretty confident.

All I know is he will enjoy coming back HOME this weekend and he might decide it's time to call Charlotte HOME AGAIN!
