Being an App alum as well as a big Panther fan, I am biased obviously towards what Armanti can do. However, he hasn't taken a snap under center since high school. It would be unfair to do that now without having practiced it this season for both him and the team. Everyone that is a fan of Armanti should remember that. An NFL team is not going to run out of the shotgun for an entire game, or even for the majority of it. Therefore, I do not think he should start at qb or play the entire game there.

He was drafted as a receiver and if everyone will remember, the comments from the Panthers then were that he was going to be a project and shouldn't be evaluated until next season after he has transitioned to receiver. The hope was that he would return punts and play some at the wildcat qb. That didn't translate well either since he had never returned punts.

The problem I have had is with the season going as it has, why not run him a couple of series in the wildcat just to change up the offense. He's mobile, can throw and run. Add some life into the offense and see if we can get a spark. He can be successful in this role and still transition to the receiver position without being rushed.

I think the Panthers ran the draft last year without Fox's input because they had already decided he won't coach past this year. Thus the reasons he is not coaching "his" players.

    Just my honest opinion.

Kid in his situation needs a steady hand at QB to ease into what he's doing as has been said a zillion times. U can't expect him to succeed when Smith is barely getting any action. Coach with some imagination wouldn't hurt either.

yeah. It might be different if he could do something unique, like return, but he's not there yet if he ever will be. As it is we're sitting an OK slot guy and ST guy in Clowney, for the last few games to get him a jersey. Which is fine, but to play him, you have to sit a young guy who's earned it. Or sit a volatile Smitty that's already dickslapping his quarterback to the media.

If anyone ever has the guts to play him at QB, you'll be the one looking like an idiot.

I'm so sick of hearing p[eople say "Put in Edwards it isn't like he could do any worse".

1st he was a great qb in the SOCON. and yes one game vs a weak michigan team.

2nd the Panthers are a PROFESSIONAL team, not a run of the mill college team or a rec team. You play peopleat their positions that they were drafted for and if you do run a wildcat then you do it with a proven athlete not a bench player.

Yes I will say it was exciting to see him drafted and he was a good college player but there is a huge difference in the SOCON than in the NFL

I don't think so, y2b is spot on here.

giving what looks to be the 33rd pick for Edwards has to be the dumbest thing Hurney has ever done and he should be fired for that alone

The only idiots I see is the personnel dept for giving up a 2nd round pick... in this case, the 33rd overall

What is Edwards, about 5' 10" tall and about 185 lbs.? Since facemasks were mounted on helmets, has there ever been an NFL QB that small who did anything significant?
