still wish the Bobcats woulda picked him up. He'd have added to ticket sales, even if only a few, but it'd been an addition, and he's heavily underrated. Its not like this team has an All-Star SG in the first place. If Kareem Rush is good enough to be given a shot, Basden is as well.

The Chicago Trib is reporting that Eddie and the Bulls have agreed on a multi-year deal which he will sign in a couple of weeks. I am very happy to hear that it was a multi-year deal. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. Score one for hard nosed, workhorse, non-primadonnas.

Basden to sign with Bulls, Conference USA player of the year impresses in Vegas
    By Marlen Garcia
    Chicago Tribune staff reporter
    July 13, 2005

LAS VEGAS -- Eddie Basden, Conference USA's player of the year who went undrafted, has agreed to terms on a multiyear contract with the Bulls.

Basden, a 6-foot-5-inch guard, has carved a niche with his defensive presence but also has impressed with his scoring in summer-league play. He averaged 15.2 points and 3.2 steals a game last season for Charlotte, and was Conference USA's defensive player of the year for the second straight season.

"It gives you a high confidence level, knowing you have something to look forward to in the fall, especially after not getting drafted," Basden said of his deal.

He scored 10 points Tuesday night in the Bulls' 84-79 victory over the Nuggets. He leads the 3-1 summer team with 14.5 points a game.

Free agents can begin signing contracts July 22.

I'd go with the white jersey. The black numbers on the red one don't do it for me and I don't care for the black jersey at all.

I'm still having trouble on which color Withers' Team USA jersey to order for autographing, leading towards red there.

    in summer league games...

    http://insidehoops.com/vegas-summer-league.shtml

Chicago Bulls 72, Sacramento Kings 71 (Eddie Basden 18p 3r... Kevin Martin 9-of-12 for 28p 5r 6 turnovers, Francisco Garcia 3-of-11 for 8p 6r 2s 3b... Very balanced scoring for both teams, so not many players to single out)

    Detroit Pistons 73, Los Angeles Clippers 69 (Pistons: Jason Maxiell 7-of-12 for 18p 4r, Junior Harrington 4-of-4 for 16p 2s, Bryant Matthews 11p 8r, Amir Johnson 10p... Clippers: Jobey Thomas 7-of-10 for 19p, Chris Kaman 18p 3r 3b, Lionel Chalmers 17p 2r 2a, Daniel Ewing 0-of-5 for 0p 4r)

Jobey's still probably a step slow for the NBA, but he can score with anybody. He's gonna make a mint in Europe as a feature/franchise type player.

Nice to see the Western Carolina kid dominating too.

Apparently the Bulls don't if they signed him to a multi year deal. Looks like you spoke too soon. :blah:

He was a hell of a free agent pickup... I wish the bobheels would have grabbed him.

Technically the Bobcats still can sign him. Free Agents can't technically sign w/ a team until the 22nd. So if they technically wanted to the Bobcats could offer more money.
