Well the stadium was packed and loud, but the more impressive thing was that James Pinkney actually looked like a genuine college quarterback. Last season I was pretty sure that I'd do better (I can still throw it farther), but he was efficient and smart against Duke. Aundrae Allison looks like a real keeper too. I don't know why he had to go the JUCO route (I'm guessing academics), but that guy should end up being first-team all-conference. If the defense would play better then ECU might actually have a chance at a winning season (if not for the kickoff return, the score would not have been so close), but that looks doubtful.

the allison kid did have some academic issues i believe. he is a former kannapolis football/hoops star and im not too certain that he even got to play his senior season in HS due to academic problems. old K63 could fill us in on him. im glad to see that he has gotten his act together. he has good skills.

I was there as well, and thought Pickney did a heck of a lot better than he did most of last season. (17-21-0-235 passing w/1 TD, and 11-31 rusing w/2TDs) . Promising thing I keep hearing is that Holtz only used about 30% of his offense last weekend. I look forward to seeing more of what he has to offer in the near future. Though this first year may not be great, but i can tell it is going to be much more exciting and hopefull than the last two.
