    you reap what you sow

they fucking deserve it. The sad thing is, that alot of this money really only affects their workers, who supposedly work like slaves with insane deadlines. They blame it on people waiting on new consoles.

That's EA for you. Afraid to admit their shit sucks. No one wants the same goddamn madden or some lame ass fps with james bond license thrown in. I didn't see the Halo 2 people complaining about bad sales from people waiting for new consoles...

not to mention that they own every damn license under the sun ranging from Harry Potter to James Bond and like Arena Football and NASCAR.

They won't go under. The biggest reason is they were forced to cut the proce of most of their games in half last year, because of that Sega did to them. This year expect prices to return to the $50 range when they are the only players in the game. Why else did you think they monopolized the market?

not really. they even said in that article that acquiring licenses is expensive. Well, no shit. It's not like these will get cheaper either. If you just look at EA's xbox game you'll see the trend. Look at how many fucking licensed games they have...

    http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/company/619.html

you can see they have shifted from making their own games back in the genesis days to pushing licensed games now. It's their lack of innovation costing them. and now they are only getting worse with them buying more licenses because they see competitors taking away money, when it's really themselves.

yeah, I'd say the profits are down because of the money they paid out to get the NFL, etc. Now that's it paid, and they'll have the only game in town, profits will go back up probably. I didn't read the article, so I'm probably wrong. :blah:

Yup. And Mule. And Starflight. Did a search today and was reminded of "Seven Cities of Gold"...

I can remember when they said they would only make computer games.
