DVD ISO to DIVX & DVD-A.

2 part question. I have already cracked and converted my DVDs to DIVX for backups and such, but am having issues backing them up to DVD. Anybody have tips on the last step? I already run #1 DVD Ripper and DVD Decryptor, but havent done the DVD burn successfully yet.

Next question. Anybody into DVD-A yet? Coments? I have the hardware to play surround, do you find the $25 a disk worth it??

 

this in reply to the other dvd-a post you made. the individual tracks of DVD-A seem like they COULD be used as the original recording tracks, but i seriously doubt that would ever be the use. they be just asking for abuse if they gave away what would be very close to the unmixed masters.

sounds like it's basically a more open format that allows for variable word lengths and sample rates, rather than being a one-size fits all type system. also sounds like they produce multiple renditions and the playback will either self select or allow you to chose which you want (stereo, surround, 5.1, 7.1, etc.)


to answer your other question, i burned a dvd once but to be honest, it was so long ago, i forgot how i did it. i remember having to run a program to convert it to the right kind of movie file (mpeg 2 i think) which took for-fucking-ever.
