    Generally guy have an extraset of golves that they hold while base running so that they makea fist when they are sliding. You can do lots of damage to your fingers sliding into base. At least that is teh way I have heard it.

    baseball players are strange. i've seen guys with batting gloves in their pockets, who don't wear them at the plate, running the bases, or under their glove.

    i could be wrong...but I think Nomar puts on another pair before he runs, they are a thicker pair so when he slides he wont hurt his hand.

    very possible that is the case. i've never really payed attention, but i might have to now.

    i was just pointing out that baseball players are wierd, so it could really be anything.
