    Not from a split and not from vested shares.

    It has to be the Spectra natural gas spinoff. In other words, I think shareholders of Duke were compensated with Spectra shares of similar value.

    Just trying to find out.

    yeah, it was from the spectra spinoff. i've owned duke stock for years now. trying to decide if i should start investing some monthly money to spectra. they want a least 50 bucks a month should i start. I'm kinda on a budget and am already investing in some other utilites monthly so, i'm not sure.

    I hope i don't die before i retire because i'm starting to see my checking account dwindle because i'm putting so much money in 401k and stocks now. Granted, i can cash my stocks out and not get penalized, but i'd rather hold onto them for future kids college/car/wedding funds.
